2021 July 8th

It's the day after the last one of their group, Seol, had graduated. They were officially done with college, and would enter the world of working adults in a few months. The three have decided to visit their grandparents after graduating, and spend some time with their families.

Donghyuck was sitting on a plane to Jeju with his parents and siblings. But unlike what one would expect, he didn't look as excited and happy as he usually would. By closer look you could see the slight poofiness of his eyes and the well concealed dark eyebags.

With his headphones on, he was soullessly staring out the small window, being too caught up in his thoughts. Every once in a while he would look down at his wrists, feeling a lump build in his throat.

If someone had told Donghyuck that he'd be like this before, he would call them crazy. He was always determined to be proud of himself and what he is, showing it freely without hiding away. But now he was doing exactly what he swore he would never.

Looking at the soft caramel brown skin on his wrists, he couldn't help but see the little red tattoos adorning them underneath the skin patches. It was something he never wanted to do after he found his soulmate... but here he was.

It has been less than 24hours since the little red tattoos appeared on his wrists, and he was still not sure how he felt about it.

He has imagined countless times how the first meeting between him and his soulmate would look like. Accidentally brushing against each other's hands, and then feeling that slight tingling. Then they would look at each other and feel the sparks ignite in their hearts. Then they'd spend all day talking and getting to know eachother, feeling the butterflies in their stomachs.

But none of that has happened.

Instead of giddily getting to know his future girlfriend and soulmate, he had locked himself up in his room. Everything was too confusing and sudden, and even though he was supposed to be happy finally bonding, he wasn't sure how to feel.

The happenings of the day before were still very vivid in his mind, as he couldn't get any sleep the previous night. He was laying on his bed, eyes focused on the two little red tattoos as tears kept rolling down his cheeks. He had so many emotions swirling inside his heart that he wouldn't know whether those tears were of joy, sadness, anger or frustration.

How could this happen? How did he never think about the possibility of it?

But then again, life is unpredictable and it is always ready for a surprise. He was happy, after all, he finally has bonded. And they were already close to him, so no awkward getting to know eachother.

But that means they would become something way more than what they are...and that is what makes him feel confused.

He decided to just watch something on the internet to get his mind off of things, but as he turned on the WiFi a message immediately popped up. His brows furrowed as he opened the text containing two words

- I'm sorry.

Why would he get this text from Renjun? There's no reason for him to-

Oh, right...

Renjun...

............................................................................

Who do you think had bonded with Hyuck?

Was it Renjun? But how, when both of them were obviously dominant hybrids?

Or, was it maybe Seol? But how?

Was Renjun saying sorry because he couldn't be friends with Donghyuck anymore after what had happened?

And, what exactly had happened on the day of Seol's graduation?
