2021 August 1st , Seoul

Mr Min was standing in the crowd of people, waiting for the glass doors to open and the passengers of the plane to start coming out. Seol had informed her parents about her return, and her dad was insisting on picking her up from the airport.

As the two finally met and made their way out of the airport, the sunny sky seemed to shift to a more gloomy and cloudy one. It was as if even the weather felt the heavy feelings in her heart, and decided to comfort her by crying together.

Seol kept humming along the radio while she watched the countless water droplets chase eachother down the car window. Her dad talking about the trip he and her mom took, excited about the souvenirs they brought. Seol just smiled at him, listening to the endless stories they somehow managed to experience in only ten days.

Arriving at home Mrs Min immediately engulfed her daughter in a hug, looking closely at her face for signs of a tan. Seol's parents loved their daughter and it was clear, despite the fact that they couldn't spend much time with her.

Even if they were more at work than at home, those moments spent with their daughter were full of love. Her parents did not try to buy her love with presents, and always left their work before coming home, focusing entirely on their family.

After a long dinner and catching up, Seol decided that it was the best moment to tell her parents about the bond. Calling her mother back from the kitchen, the two grown ups patiently waited for her to start talking.

Seol quietly looked down, hands slowly peeling off the fake skin before she placed both of them on the table in front of her, showing her wrists. She didn't want to look up as her mother's gasp made her nervous.

"Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! You finally found your soulmate! Who is it? Do I know them? When did this happen? Is it a g-"

"Slow down dear, you might make her brain explode with all these questions. Let her talk, hmm?" Mr Min gave a look to his wife, who was acting like a hormonal teenage girl at this newfound information. "But Seolie... does this mean that you have soulmates? Two?"

Feeling her dad's hand touch her wrist she slightly looked up, nodding slowly before her mother interrupted her again. "No way! Really?! That's awesome! I wish I had two of your dads~ double fun."

She wriggled her eyebrows and gave the two suggestive looks, making Seol blush in embarrassment while her dad only sighed, being used to his crazy wife. "Oh, wait...but if it's two guys how do you get p-"

"MOM!"

"What? That's a genuine concern! I mean you can't just have the two of them c-"

"OkAY, that's enough! Why are you talking about this when you don't even know their genders yet?" Mr Min was trying to stay sane, watching the exchange in front of him with horror.

"Sweetheart, you already know them right? So tell me...boys?"

Seol let out a small yes, making her mom grin and look at her husband with a "see, I'm always right" look. But before she could continue their previous conversation, Mr Min caught the sad expression on his daughter's face.

"Hey, why don't you look happy with the news. Did something happen? Do I need to beat up someone?"

"Sweetheart?" Mrs Min also joined her husband, holding each of their daughter's wrists before they saw a tear slide down her cheek.

"We had a fight, a big one...and we didn't talk ever since then." Seol sighed before her dad's worried look caught her eyes. "I had no contact with them since we bonded at my graduation..."

"I'm sure it's not like that. You were away and just got home, so you'll have time to meet up more often now."

"You don't get it dad! You didn't see the hurt and anger in Hyuck's eyes when he found out that I messed with the bond, or the disappointment in Renjun's!" Seol said before crossing her arms on the table and hiding her face.

"Donghyuck and Renjun? What... Are those boys your soulmates?" Mrs Min's voice was now soft, looking worried about her daughter. Seeing her nod without even looking up, she let out a small sigh.

"You know, Renjun came over looking for you the day when his family got back from China. He looked like he really wanted to see you and talk, but you were in New York."

Lifting her head she was met with two pairs of gentle eyes before her mother pulled her in an embrace. Mr Min watched the two, feeling bad for not knowing and being there for his daughter when she needed it the most.

"We need to visit your doctor to tell him about it."

"Jae and I already visited him after coming back from grandma and grandpa's. He also got me to meet one of his acquaintances who is in a similar situation, so that I could ask for some advice." Seol smiled at her mom, making the woman return the gesture.

"I always knew that I should have adopted that boy, but your aunt refused to give him to me! Anyways, I'm glad that Jaehyun was there for you and you had someone to protect you."

"Your mom is right honey, but you know that you can't always expect him to run to you when you feel down. Jae also has his own soulmate who he needs to take care of, and so do you. I'm sure that the boys only reacted like that out of shock, since you three have been stuck together since you were kids.

Knowing Donghyuck he probably didn't let you explain the situation before he stormed off after lashing out, right? And Renjun must have felt conflicted, mainly because of how Donghyuck reacted."

Mr Min knew he was right when Seol's gaze dropped to the ground, feeling bad for causing a misunderstanding. Instead of giving her advice, he decided that joining their hug and comforting his little girl would be better, so that's what he did.
