After Seol told her parents everything she went back to her room to get some rest. The weather outside turned worse, rain pouring and the wind swaying the trees outside. She was too tired to unpack, and just threw her carrier somewhere in the room, took a quick shower and jumped into the bed.
Not being able to sleep on the whole flight, she was very tired and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. In her dreams she found herself back in the States, visiting the beach with Jae and enjoying the cool ocean.
Her happy swimming time eventually got disturbed by her mother, forcing her to wake up and eat lunch. "Get up and eat something first, after that you can go back to sleep if you want." Mrs Min told her after ruthlessly opening the blinds and windows and removing her warm blanket.
The rain still hadn't stopped, which made the air chilly outside despite it still being summer. Seol looked over at the clock on her wall, seeing the red '14:36' before lazily standing up and stumbling to the kitchen.
Mr Min pushed a cup of coffee in front of her, making her nod lifelessly before digging in the food that was prepared for lunch. The weather outside was perfect for sleeping all day and watching movies, so after filling her stomach Seol got comfortable on the living room couch and started binge watching Netflix dramas.
The rain didn't stop even by the next day, but it did become weaker and the wind also stopped. Seol finished her dramas and was debating whether to go out for a walk or just do something at home. Her parents being at work until the evening left her alone in the house, and so she decided to just stay in.
Turning on some music she started unpacking her luggage first, having forgotten its existence until now. Taking out the souvenirs she bought as well as the snacks, she just dumped all her clothes in the washing machine.
Renjun was by the window in his room painting. The calming rain had inspired him to paint a landscape. The beautiful view of the hills and trees he initially painted was slowly disappearing behind the raindrops and the clouds.
It reminded him of their future, the clear picture they all had suddenly got covered by a layer of fog and rain. It seemed scary at first, but then again the rain falling outside was the exact opposite. Thinking of it as something that would wash away the dust and dirt, and leave everything clean made Renjun smile while adding more and more greys and whites to the canvas.
It was only by the time he finished that the music from next door caught his attention, looking over at the open window facing his. 'Seol must be cleaning' was the thought that appeared first in his head, knowing how she would play music while doing her chores.
Turning back to his brushes and colours, cleaning up everything Renjun suddenly halted in his movements realizing something. 'Seol is back!' His smile immediately grew bigger and he quickly finished tidying up everything before changing his clothes and hurrying to the house next to his.
He was about to exit his house when he sent the girl a quick text saying "open the door" and ran out into the rain. Wearing only his hoodie and a pair of slippers was not the best idea, but he couldn't care less. The message notification was heard loudly as Seol had her phone connected to the Bluetooth speaker, making Renjun smile slightly.
He arrived in front of her door in a matter of seconds and rang the bell, waiting to be let inside. He doesn't know what he was expecting, but getting nagged at first was probably not on his list.
Getting pulled inside he kicked off his slippers while Seol complained about his lack of common sense for not taking an umbrella and wearing inappropriate footwear.
Renjun smiled and pulled her into a bone crushing hug as soon as she closed the door and turned to him. Her arms immediately wrapped around his torso, head resting on his shoulder as both found peace in the position they were in.
"I missed you... It's been way too long since we saw eachother..." He let out a sigh, agreeing with her statement and burying his face into her hair. Staying in each other's arms swaying slightly the two enjoyed their reunion for a few more minutes, before pulling apart and walking over to Seol's room.
Sitting on the bed side by side, Renjun was the first to break the awkward silence. "How was New York? Did you enjoy your trip?"
"It was great. I finally got to spend some time with Jae and also got to clear my head a bit, take my mind off of everything."
"Yeah, that's good. And I'm guessing your cousin was also helping you cope with everything... you know, being a doc and all."
"Yeah... How was your trip to China?"
"It was okay. Took me some time to stop overthinking everything, and once I got my thoughts sorted out, it was quite nice. One of my cousins decided to move to Korea next year, so I might get a roommate."
"Sorry for causing all that trouble, but I can explain everything."
"It's okay, I get it. We met your doctor at the hospital when Hyuck and I tried to acquire some more information about our situation, and he cleared up some things. You don't have to feel bad about your decision.
In fact, I totally agree with it and support it, knowing just how bad it was for you back then. I just wish that we somehow found out about eachother earlier, and not through bonding."
"Thanks Jjun, that means a lot more than you could imagine, but I have a feeling that this is only because you actually know that part of my past. As for Hyuck... I don't think he'll be as accepting..."
"I'm sure he'll come around sooner or later. Knowing him, his biggest concern right now is this tripple bond and the fact that it's messing up his future plans. I wouldn't be surprised if he avoided us for a while, trying to wrap his head around the fact that it's three of us."
"Did Dr Lee tell you about the option of not completing the bond?"
"The two of us already finished that even before visiting the hospital, so there's no turning back anymore. And honestly I'm glad that we did it, because this way Hyuck can't just run away and give up on us."
Seol was awfully quiet for a long time after hearing that, and Renjun could imagine what was going on in her head. He was ready to yell at the girl for even thinking about something like that, but decided not to. Taking her hand in his, the boy successfully caught her attention before speaking up.
"I know what you are thinking about but don't even dare to. You are not going to run away until this bond has faded because you think that would make us happier. That won't happen. And if I need to, I'll stick to your side 24/7 just make sure that you stay."
Seeing the small smile appear on the girl's face, Renjun pulled her closer to himself. The two ended up cuddling on the bed and talking more about their vacations until dinner, when Renjun had to go back home.
Being busy catching up, the two totally forgot about their tattoos, that once again changed.
