It was a bright sunny day but it felt like a miserable one in Dazai's heart. The realisation that Chuuya was dead left an empty feeling inside his soul, darkening everything around him. Life felt meaningless again, nothing mattered anymore. His surroundings seemed dull and the joy in his life had vanished. He was back to the empty shell of a human being he was seven years ago. The first time he laughed or felt any positive feeling was the day he met Chuuya and his life had got better because of it, but now he was gone that all vanished. The feelings he felt for the hat rack were becoming increasingly obvious to him. He was practically dead no longer feeling anything so what was the point of him being alive anyway.
Dazai stared at the road and world below him from the roof of the Agency's building. He debated over jumping, putting serious thought into this suicide, wondering if death would help ease the ever growing pain in his heart. Just when he was about to jump, an irritating nagging feeling was in his head of Oda and his utter disappointment at his attempts to leave this world before solving the case he was assigned. Oda's voice argued that he had yet to find a body so Chuuya still could be alive, however Dazai's depression was too strong to listen to the logic of his subconscious that was in the form of Oda. Yet, fortunately, he couldn't shake away the feeling caused by Oda's point. This nagging feeling managed to buy Dazai enough time for Atsushi to save him by calling him back to the office for a meeting, preventing him from trying to jump again.

Everyone sat patiently in the conference room silently listening to their president, Fukazawa, explain the subject of the meeting and its great importance. Dazai was the exception to this. Usually he wouldn't attend these meetings but instead get Atsushi or Kunikida to catch him up; However today Dazai had nothing better to do, besides suicide, to motivate him to miss the meeting. His presence in the meeting was slightly unsettling for many of the agency members with them not being used to him being present at a meeting before- Atsushi himself was pretty surprised at how he managed to drag Dazai to attend it. Dazai sat slouched in the chair furthest from his co-workers and tried his best to pay attention in a vain attempt to stop himself wallowing in his sadness.
The subject of the meeting Fukazawa so desperately tried to communicate to the agency members was of a particular case to do with ability users bodies showing up around Yokohama. It turns out they had been subject to multiple experiments seen by their mangled bodies. There were others who had not died from these experiments but some were too traumatised to talk about it and others had completely forgotten about the incident- the scars on their bodies being the only evidence they had to prove they also were subject to experiments. So far there was a recorded amount of 10 dead bodies, 3 traumatised victims and 5 with no memory. Fukazawa explained the rest of the details then adjourned the meeting for now.
The first one to leave the conference room was Dazai no longer seeing the point in being there now the meeting was over. He left pretty abruptly, exiting the minute Fukazawa finished speaking, leaving no time for anyone to question him. Though he left abruptly he still moved slowly with his depression dragging him down as he exited the door and this wasn't gone unnoticed.
"Is it me or does Dazai seem a bit- no very depressed?" Jun'ichiro questioned,
"yeah he seemed less energetic than normal." Kenji added,
"well he certainly seemed less annoying than usual which is strange," Kunikida agreed.
"I've been thinking that too Jun'ichiro since this morning. I was quite surprised i managed to get him to leave the rooftop this morning for the meeting." Atsushi admitted.
