Time had stopped. The world around had grown dark and lifeless. There was no more smiles of joy; no more cries of sadness; no more arguments filled with anger- there was nothing. It all became non-existent and just faded into the background, unnoticed. The world was filled with silence. All joy and passion, all noise and cries, all pain and agony, they were all swallowed up into this nothingness leaving empty silence. It was silence that creeped down your spine leaving you feeling uneasy but sadly no escape because everyone was trapped inside their minds and skin. Everything was still, frozen in time. There was no movement or sign of life anywhere, all there was were statues that mimicked people. Plain old statues lacking emotions. These robotic stone like people stood in the room trapped inside themselves. They couldn't move nor did they want to because if they did time would continue and then they'd have to deal with what just happened. Neither one of the two figures was ready to face that so instead they chose to remain frozen staring at their friend. They just stared at the redhead who was collapsed in the younger's arms and did nothing else.
Chuuya lay motionless in the arms of the frozen statue known as Dazai. The brunette stared worryingly at the chibi in his arms unsure of what to do. What was he meant to do? This was all too sudden, he had had no chance to prepare himself or have a plan of action so...what was he meant to do? Chuuya had been fine, no he'd been almost perfect so how did this happen? His boyfriend had gone through hell and back, he'd shed many tears and finally this morning there was a smile on his face; he had believed this to be a good sign that the redhead was getting better at least he was starting too so why was he currently collapsed in his arms. How did the hat rack change so rapidly from the feisty brat to this motionless, soulless body without any warning signs prior? Dazai was at a loss with all these unanswered questions whirling around in his mind and all he could do was hold tightly onto his precious slug. Chuuya was so frail in Dazai's arms, it was if he could break if the brunette dared breathe on him. This meant Dazai wouldn't move, he wouldn't risk putting Chuuya in a more compromising position...well that was what he told himself. The actual truth was he couldn't move, he was frozen still locked in place by his ever growing fear. His boyfriend was weak; he was covered in the blood he coughed up earlier and he pulse was becoming immensely fainter with each heartbeat. The fact was: Chuuya was dying and for once Dazai didn't know what to do.
"Dazai, get up and come with me." Mori ordered.
Pulling Dazai out of his frozen state was Mori's commanding voice bringing the demon prodigy out of the meaningless abyss and into the lively world. Time resumed. Dazai looked up at his former his boss and was instantly hit by the menacing aura the aired out of one Ogai Mori. However, there was deep worry coated over his face revealing who this aura was actually directed towards...Elisabeth. Time had resumed for them both and that was clear to Dazai by Chuuya's weakening pulse. It was quiet evident that they were now fighting against a ticking clock for Chuuya's life. They had to work diligently and fast or else time will claim Chuuya's last breath and he will lose the redhead all over again and he had only just got him back. He had no idea why this was happening but Dazai would no longer sulk over that fact instead he'll try and save the one person he loved and he knew loved him back. Sadly, he still didn't know how to do that which made him falter at Mori's words. What could he do? All he knew was that this was the result of Elisabeth, that he knew for sure, but that fact couldn't help him. Never-before had he been in a situation where he needed to save someone's life like this. He was always the one with those strategies that managed to prevent a situation like this or from his Mafia's days cause it so how could he be useful. Dazai stared back at the motionless Chuuya causing his heart to race. It raced faster and more violently as Mori, who had become impatient, grabbed Dazai by his bandages and pulled him into the adjoining room.
