"I would like to start my vow with the short stor; How I Met My Man."

Someone whistled in the crowd making everyone else laugh.

Giftie chuckled as she straightened the paper in her hand, ready to read through her veil, her wedding vow.

"It was the 7th of August, 27 minutes past nine o'clock," she said. Most men found how accurately she could remember that day amusing.

"At the time I was a youth copper, who took some time off to visit my friend. Quite unlike me, I mixed up the address and ended at Clifford's doorsteps. I didn't even realize my mistake and so when the door opened, imagine my surprise to find before me, this Melanin popping—"

"Ehen!" Terence hailed while wiggling his brows from where he stood with the rest of the groomsmen. Everyone including the choristers laughed at his remark.

"Handsome dripping—"

"Ehen!" All the groomsmen joined in.

"Fit man with a deep soft voice, answered the door," she drawled out the last part.

"Ahhhhhh!" Everybody exclaimed.

Clifford bowed his head  and covered his face with his palms. He was a shy one and he knew that  was in for it from the day he proposed to the president of Bae Hypers Association. He knew he would end up blushing throughout his wedding.

She turned to the officiant on the podium and bowing her knees she said, "Forgive me Pastor, I almost forgot I'm in church."

The officiant of the ceremony who struggling to keep his laughter at bay simply nodded at the pair.

"I explained what happened and also apologized for intruding. As I turned to leave, he stopped and asked if I would like to come in for a drink of water and I did. Now before I continue," she turned to her father sitting a few feet away from, "I have to apologize to my daddy because, this is not the same version of the story he heard. I edited it a little," she cleared her throat and said, "so Daddy and Mummy, I'm sorry."

The father laughed real hard and nodded for her to continue.

"Now it wasn't till he asked me to come in for a drink, that I found myself sweating profusely. The heat that day was crazy. I entered into his humble home and gladly took the refreshing glass of cold water. I wanted to leave now but, he said that since I was going far off that I should rest under the air conditioning before I began my search again. He said he only stopped to pick up something he forgot on his way to the office. He said we would both leave when he found it. I agreed and till this day I can't understand what made me so carefree with this stranger."

"Nah love uwantiti," echoed Clifford's brother and best man.

"My brother," she laughed, "Anyway, after about 10 minutes, we left the house and began to the journey to my friends actual house. Alighting the vehicle, I notice he is still following me, this oddly kind stranger, was still following me. This time I asked him to leave but, he said he wouldn't, not until he was sure I have safely reached my destination. At first, I felt uncomfortable walking around with this guy but, after an hour of searching in vain, I was grateful he followed me. In fact, like a guardian angel or something, he told me to rest at a shop. He bought me a bottle of—I will never forget—coke and shortbread, while, he went out in the sun searching for my friends like it was his friend. He took the matter on his head, this man that I do not know. Oh! What a sweet man."
