CHAPTER 32

(Athena's POV)

We reach the floor and there is a single massive door at the end of the hallway. I thought it will be like the remaining floors with different rooms on both sides, but no.

Victor presses a calling bell. Nope it's not a calling bell, coz, a touch screen appears out of nowhere, and he uses a finger print and accesses some settings and asks me to keep my finger on it as well.

"Come on, keep your finger, I want you to be able to access it." Victor says.

I do that and the door opens. I must say I am impressed.

"Another reason why I feel it will be better if we move here is, the privacy and security is better as you can see. I trust my pack a lot. But down there a lot of people will have access to our rooms and here people cannot get in unless we ourselves let them in. Given the situation, this is just something extra that might help if the shit hits the fan" he chuckles nervously.

I nod.

I get that he wants me to move in with him here, I mean we already live in the same room so it shouldn't make much difference. But I understand that this is like the next step in our relationship and his pack might take that as a sign that I am ready to be Luna. But I am not. I love Victor. But as of now, I am trying to be alive. So, I don't know if I am ready for this.

"Woah" I exclaim as I take in the appearance of the luxurious penthouse.

He chuckles again, "Like it already? Wait until you see our room and the closet."

The living room is so beautiful, just the equal mixture of modern and antique style with green and brown tones. He moves us to the guestrooms and they are very similar to the arrangements that I saw in the penthouse at his resort. This time the rooms are in shades of yellow. And finally, he takes me to the master bedroom.

"My god" I whisper, it is like he somehow knows how my dream bedroom looks like and made it real.

"Here, the closet" he shows a concealed door that I didn't notice before.

And there my friends, is heaven.

How can I not say yes to this?

"The clothes, jewelry, shoes... everything is your size...Like it?" Victor asks as I explore the walk-in closet that is already filled. One side is for me and the other is for him. But I don't think he needs that much space, maybe I will take half of his side as well.

"Like it?" Victor asks again "If you don't, we could change it, not just here, the entire penthouse" He clearly is nervous now.

I start laughing, "Like it? I love it Victor"

"Thank God" he exhales.

"Okay here is my proposition" I start and he visible stiffens.

"I like this place a lot. I wouldn't change a thing about it. And I also like the fact about privacy and added security. The aesthetics of this place is just too good and the walk-in closet is like brownie points. Besides we already live in the same room so it shouldn't matter if we do the same in a different floor." I tell him and he is so excited.

I hate myself for breaking his happy bubble.

"But I don't know if we should move here. You said, if it were normal circumstances then you would have marked me by now and I don't want to be marked now. Also, I don't know if I am ready to take up the Luna position, even though all of the pack people who I have met keep calling me Luna. What if the pack thinks I am ready, when they know I am living with you in the Alpha floor? Victor, we don't know for sure if I will be safe and alive in the future. I feel so bad for dragging you into this and I don't want to lead you and your pack on" I sigh.

Victor closes the distance between us and hugs me tight,

"Athena, first things first, you will remain safe and alive, I will ensure it, at all costs, never doubt it. I might seem all lovey dovey to you, but it is only with you. I am a very powerful and widely feared Alpha in this continent. When I say I can protect you, I mean it. I love you and I don't really care about any danger you might bring. You are mine, we will deal with the problems together, okay?"

I nod and he kisses my forehead and continues,

"As I told you before, I won't rush you into anything that you don't want to do. That includes me marking you, you becoming the Luna officially and so on. It will be your decision totally. I agree I wish for it to happen as soon as possible. But it will happen only with your approval. Is that clear?" He asks

I nod and look at him, craning my neck, and

"Athena, I wanted for us to move here so that I can please my wolf that you are living with me in our home, safe and secure, and not somewhere where other wolves can come and go. I wanted this because we will have a beautiful space to share. Also, there are added perks like privacy and security. You don't have to worry about leading me/the pack on. You are my mate and hence their Luna, even if it's not official, so, they will respect you and your decisions. As their Alpha, I demand their respect for you Athena, okay. You are the one for me and I will not take another mate even in my dreams. If you agree to be the Luna, then the pack couldn't have gotten luckier. But, if you don't agree, the pack will not have a Luna, that is all. No one can question it. Okay?"

"What do you mean they won't have a Luna if I don't agree? They need a Luna. They will want a Luna" I tell him. I don't want to be forced but at the same time, it irritates me that if I don't say yes, then he may choose someone else having no other choice. God! Why am I like this?

(Victor's POV)

"What I am telling is the pack is very important to me. But you are my life and I will do anything in my power to keep you safe and comfortable. And I respect your decision whatever it maybe. You will be the one love of my life. Nothing can change it. I wish you will agree to stay here though. It won't differ much to us, like you said, we already live in the same room. Plus, it won't bother the pack like you think, as it is very common. Only you have to decide and I won't force you" I tell and continue hugging her.

I am staying in a makeshift room, that I used very rarely, as I always stayed in the resort except when I come here for official purposes. The room where both of us stay is a guestroom. So, it is only normal that both of us move into our rightful home. We can figure out the other details later on. Why stay in a guestroom when you have a house?

I told her about the privacy and security features in general, I mean she will know about those aspects even if I didn't tell anything about it, as she can see it herself, but I was careful not to tell anything about Craig. One less thing for her to worry about.

I look at her, and can tell that she is thinking hard.

If she doesn't want to move in its okay. If she wants to move in that is great. I just want to be with her. I know there is a possibility that she may not want to be Luna even after she moves in with me and all the problems get solved. It hurts to even think about such a situation. So, I don't dwell on it. If it comes to that I will do whatever she wants. Maybe leave everything and go after her. But being the Alpha I don't have that luxury. If I still do it... What if she does not want me?

She takes a deep breath and places a quick kiss on my mouth taking me by surprise, "Well if you promise to behave then okay, I agree to move in with the closet. I don't mind you tagging along" she wiggles her eyebrows.

I laugh and can't help but shake my head. I feel so relieved.

"Move in with the closet, eh? What can I say? I am glad you agreed to let me inside your chambers your majesty" I say and kiss her.
