(Athena's POV)
Victor was standing outside with an award-winning smile. Gosh! How can anyone stay mad at someone who has a smile like that!
"You look beautiful" he says and holds his hand out. I cannot help but blush at the comment, I mutter a thanks and take his hand as he leads me to the roof top restaurant.
The scene visible from our table was extraordinary. My heartrate is always high when I'm around him, all my plans to be sarcastic with him have gone out the window. I'm having a huge crush on him... But he is just a rich guy who does this every other day with beautiful women... And he probably won't even remember me in a few days. Anyways I just decide to enjoy the moment, while he orders the restaurant specialties. Why doesn't he ask me what I want?
"Athena, do you have any allergies?" he asks. I'm dumbfounded. Before I can reply he says "I don't mean to be rude, it is my restaurant and I know what tastes great so I took the liberty to order food for you as well, I wanted to know if you have any allergies so I can ask the chef to alter the recipe accordingly".
I hesitate a little and reply "No, I don't have allergies", he smiles at me. This was going to be a long interesting night.
(Victor's POV)
She catches me staring at her while we are eating, God she's so gorgeous, I'm one lucky man... "How's the food? love", I blurt out. Her eyes widen at 'love' and starts to speak. I put my hand up to stop her. My wolf ears pick up something. I try to listen again, but with the music in the background, it's hard to tell.
Something was clearly wrong.
In a second, I get up, pull her out of her chair, and stand in a protective stance. My beta Z who was also in the restaurant, had heard it too and called the pack police for help. We heard the sound again...
My eyes widen when I realize what sound that is.
Bullet whirring... Oh shit!
"Get down Athena" I tell her. "What's happening" she asks as she ducks. But it's too late and I get in front of her.
The bullet hits me!
