(Athena's POV)
As soon as we reached the reception desk, Betty squealed after seeing something. I started panicking and turned around to see Max there. Betty asked, "Max, what are you doing here? You said you had a meeting somewhere else".
"Babe, I just wanted to surprise you, and do know that you will always be my first priority, nothing on this earth can change that" Max spoke with such sincerity. I was never the one to think of love or marriage, not everyone was lucky enough to find love and I have come to accept that. But whenever I see Betty and Max together, they gave me hope that my true love might just be out there somewhere, searching for me.
Reality check... Now that Max has come to the resort will I be welcome to stay here. Of course, yes, I mean Betty won't ditch me. I may have to stay in another room, I can manage that. But this staycation was supposed to be compensative to her bachelorette party, and now it has become their pre-honeymoon (rolling my eyes mentally) I should plan and throw a surprise party to her, now that I can pull off.
"Hi Athena! How are you?" Max's words brought me back from my thoughts. "Hi Max, I'm good and you?" I asked. He replied "Likewise", Betty looked embarrassed before she was about to say something. I had a fair idea about what she was thinking, I mean what are best friends for? "Betty it's okay you don't have to explain, I'll stay in another room. You guys have a good time" I said. And Betty visibly relaxed, and murmured "I'm sorry Athena."
I wanted her to be cheerful again so I started to tickle her and Max joined. "Hey you guys! stop teaming up and oh!!! Stop tickling" she exclaimed. We were laughing uncontrollably, when we heard someone clearing their throat. It was the receptionist. Oopsie
We got the room keys and went up to our rooms and agreed to meet for dinner at 7. I know that the curfew is at 6, but the restaurant is within the resort so I guess it should be okay.
The next day...
Turns out Max was here for a meeting, so me and Betty had arranged for a spa day. At the spa, Betty told me, she spoke with Max, and he helped in arranging a food blogging session at the restaurant Cream & Candy within the resort. Perks of knowing an employee! So, soon after the spa session, we went to our rooms, took a shower and reached the restaurant on time. The manager was informed of our arrival, and since we knew Max, everything went on smoothly. The manager told us about the restaurant specialty Cotton candy ice-cream sandwich. God it looked so good!! Can't wait to try it. I became a food blogger for a reason, I'm a total foodie and can't stop drooling over food! I decided I will do my next blog on this and a few other regulars of the restaurant. We were setting up the food on a table.
Little did I know my life will turn upside down in under a few minutes.
