(Athena's POV)
Wait... why is this guy wearing handcuffs? Shit... Oh god! I can't believe I'm helping a convict who probably escaped. I turn to look at the man who threw this guy. I see him at the door and whoa! He is one handsome man and there is this aura of authority around him, maybe he works for the police. He has black hair and matching eyes just like me. What am I even doing? Why am I checking him out? This is so strange...
Within a second the guy I just helped, has a hold on me and has his hand wrapped around my neck choking me... so much for trying to help him. "Don't come near me Alpha, I'll break her neck if you try anything" he threatens.
I hear a growl from the handsome guy. But how can a human growl. I'm gasping for air but strangely I'm not panicking, I just feel safe. Okay its official, my common sense has left the building.
(Victor's POV)
I walk over to my mate, as Craig tightens his hold on her neck. "Alpha, I repeat I'll kill her right now" he squeals.
I must break his arms for even touching my mate. I stop walking, I can sense his fear. I don't want that criminal anywhere near my mate, leave alone choking her and it infuriates me. What Craig doesn't realize is that, I had just distracted him by walking towards him, while he didn't notice Z go behind him. I hold Craig's attention when all of a sudden Z grabs and breaks Craig's hand that was choking my mate. Nice one Z.
He screams in pain and loosens his hold, I immediately pull her out of his hold, check if she is alright, she smiles at me as if she is telling she's okay and I put her aside. She's so beautiful.
Another woman comes by her side and is trying to comfort my mate. Maybe she's her friend. I would have never wanted to have my mate in such a situation, that too in the hands of a criminal. But she is safe now, that's what matters... I try to calm myself. Now back to business. Craig not only tried to escape, but he threatened me with a human, who happens to be my mate. I'm not letting that slide. I'll make him regret his birth. I pull him up by his neck, "How dare you try to escape us, and HOW DARE YOU TRY TO THREATEN ME?", I growled and he visibly flinched. I didn't mention anything about my mate on purpose. I threw him to the floor and my pack police took him out. I mind linked them that I want him in the prison, and I'll personally attend to him later.
