Chapter 3

As he was cooking I took a quick shower and changed into comfy clothes which were sweatpants and a t-shirt. My hair was still wet so I just brushed it and lift it down so it could dry, I walked to the kitchen and leaned against the doorway.

"What are you making?" I asked my curiosity getting the better if me

"I'm making dumplings"

My face lit up

"Really!" I asked

"Who new you could get so excited over dumplings" He teased

"Shut up it's been awhile since I had them plus my mom taught you some of my family's recipes including the dumplings"

"Your right she did teach me" He said with a little chuckle

Heat rose to my face, it been awhile since I heard him laugh at my stupid ways. I would never really act this way around my team but with him it's different  because he's known me for so long, and because he also lost everything that night. He lost his parents and his younger sister who looked up to him, I loved his sister like she was mine own she told me that when she grew up she wanted to be like me and have a small family. Her parents treated me like I was there kid his parents were so kind even when we would do a prank on them they would laugh with us.

I didn't realize it but the smile that was on my face became a sad one.

"What are you think about" He asked as he looked over his shoulder

"I was just think about Mia" I told him

"She would of been very happy to know your alive and well if she was still here" He said with a little sadness in his voice

"How old would she be now?" I questioned

"Well she was 5 during that night and it's been 9 years so she would be 14 now"

"She would have been an amazing ninja" I said

"Yes she would of"

"She would of also been a beautiful young girl" I told him my voice low

He turned around and walked over to me

"Yes she would of" he said as he hugged me

I hugged him back afraid that if I let go he would disappear

"I promised to protected her" I told him

"I know but there was nothing you could do" He told me quietly

"But I could of saved her"

"Shh Y/n Mia wouldn't want you to be sad and holding onto the passed"

I nodded

I hugged him for a few more minutes then I let him go and sat at the table waiting for the dumplings to be done. After a few more minutes they where done and the smell made my mouth water, when he placed a plate infront of me I said thanks for my food and dug right in not waiting for him to sit down. It tasted like heaven the way it was perfectly cooking and nice and soft and not chewy and tough.

"Slow down before you choke" he warned me

I giggled after swallowing the dumpling I had in my mouth

"You know these may be the best ones that you've made so far" I told him

"So your saying the ones I've made before weren't good" He said acting like he was hurt

"Ehh maybe"

He hit my arm lightly

"Your so mean" He told me being dramatic
