I woke up groggy and with a searing headache. After a night like last night, I wasn't surprised. The news of Sophia and Logan's technical four-year engagement had hit Percy like a boulder to the chest. Thanks gods he hadn't questioned the sleeping arangements... yet. As of last night, he'd been too busy questioning Lena's date, Nathan. Thinking back, he was practically obsessed with his daughters' love lives.

"Why aren't you quesitoning Emma?" I asked as we got ready for bed. Thanksgiving dinner was weighing me down- it had only been a few hours since we'd finished dinner.

        "Because," Percy said.

"That's not a reason, Seaweed Brain," I hoped he'd still let me call him that when he found out I knew about the engagement for a few months.

Percy huffed. "Rion's a guy, he can handle himself."

I laughed, making a face at him. "Because you're such an excellent example of that. Logan and Nathan are probably terrified of you!"

"Or conspiring against me." Percy added harshly. I snorted.

        "They're kids, Percy! They-"

"Exactly. Annabeth, Sophia's 21. She's not ready for a commitment like that!"

"She's an adult now, Percy, and she can make her own decisions. Listen, I'm not arguing with you about this, it's Thanksgiving, and we're together as a family. What more could you ask for?"

"Less of a family," Percy had muttered.

I shook the thought out of my head, wandering into the bathroom to start my day. Percy was still sound asleep in bed. I could hear somebody donwnstairs, and I was hoping Logan was out of Sophia's bed by the time Percy woke up.

Much to my surprise, almost everyone was up downstairs. Sophia and Logan were all dressed for a run, which apparently they did now, and Rion was making coffe for Nathan, Emma, and Lena.

"Morning, Mom!" Lena smiled, sipping her fresh cup of coffee. The aroma wafted my way, and motioned for Rion to pour me a cup.

"You guys are all up early," I smiled, taking a seat on the sofa. "Are you two off for a run?"

Sophia nodded. "We try to do it five times a week, to stay in shape for... you know, stuff," Although Sophia and Logan hadn't been on a quest since they'd started college, and probably wouldn't go on one again, they made it seem like it was their job to go save the world. Sophia, as always, took that job very seriously.

"I would much rather fill up on coffee and watch the news, but thanks for the info... Maybe I'll join the club next semester," I laughed, winking at Sophia. "Have fun!"

Taylor and Luke wandered down next, already beginning their argument. "Starbucks is better than Monster Donut, and you know it."

        "You've never even been!"

"Neither have you!" Taylor spotted Nathan and gulped. I glared at her, along with Lena, who looked like the vein on her forehead was about to pop.

"Are you okay, Lena?" Nathan said, flashing her a concerned look.

"I'm fine. Just rosy." She angrily took another sip of coffee, leaving Nathan completely clueless as ot her sudden fit of anger.

Percy came downstairs at 11. "So Sleeping Beauty lives!" Luke smiled, Percy ruffling his hair. He'd begun to go back to his normal self.
