I stared at her; the girl I'd felt so threatened by as a teenager, the girl who almost dragged Percy away from me, the girl who was now making another man happy. That man's name was Leo. And that girl's name? Calypso.
Percy looked at her, stunned.
"H-h-hi..." He said, glancing in my direction. She looked exactly as Percy described her; beautiful, in every aspect.
"Hello, Percy. It's nice to see you again," Her voice was smooth like the wind, and soft as a pillow. She had an aura about her that was gorgeous, scary, and mysterious all at the same time.
Leo held her hand. I glanced in Piper's direction, who was clinging tightly to Jason as if Calypso might take him next. Hazel an Frank stood awkwardly next to the table.
"So guys, this is her! What'd'ya think?" Leo's smile was a mile wide. I could tell he was happy.
Percy still seemed like he felt guilty. His eyes were sad, and they danced with the candlelight.
"You must be Annabeth. Percy spoke very highly of you when he- stumbled upon my island." Now Percy bit his lip, and I could tell that had pushed him a millimeter too far.
"Listen, Calypso. I'm sorry I didn't come back. I'm sorry that I didn't do everything you wished for. I'm sorry that I was just another guy who came to ruin your life. But I need you to stop rubbing in my face. Now I have a life that I am very happy with, and I don't need anything else to disrupt it; I have evil monsters after my kids constantly. I don't need my friends making it worse." He stood and walked off onto the balcony. The waiter rushed over to the table with more wine.
"Percy, wait-" I stood to go after him, but Calypso glanced at me.
"Annabeth, please tell Percy I'm sorry. I didn't- I wouldn't-" Leo stepped in to help his crying fianceé.
"Percy is extremely senstive about friendships, Caly. It's his fatal flaw. He feels guilty about not coming back for you." Calypso nodded.
"I know." She stood, and walked towards the balcony. But she stopped mid-way.
"Annabeth, please... please come with me." I followed my initial response, and soon I was out on the balcony. Percy was leaning out over the edge, his eyes closed. I looked back at our table, where Jason had taken Leo aside and was talking to him. Frank had left, and Piper and Hazel were talking endlessly. Calypso touched his shoulder, and Percy turned around, his eyes filled with tears. He reached for my hand, and I took it.
"Percy... Look, I didn't come here to upset you. I don't hold you accountable for anything that you did or didn't do. You have done so much for so many people, and that matters to me." I wiped Percy's eyes dry, but tears kept flowing.
"Thanks," he muttered. But that was all he could manage.

*2 WEEKS LATER*Leo and Calypso had gotten married. They'd eloped, all the way back in Greece. Calypso was able to see her family before the wedding, and she'd told me all about it.
Calypso and I had become pretty good friends. After many long conversations with Percy and Percy's many long conversations with his dad, he'd worked himself out, and I was glad. I think he was too. It was a whole weight lifted off his shoulders, metaphorically. That was exactly what he'd needed.
Then Leo called Beckendorf. He'd asked for time off, maybe about three weeks. He got the vacation, but not without the reason. Beckendorf told Silena, and Silena told me. Leo and Calypso were adopting.
Apparently, one of Leo's employees had a friend whose daughter's boyfriend's sister was pregnant, in wedlock. She felt that she was unready to have a baby, seeing as she was in medical school, and only in her early twenties. She was due any day now, and she was sure that she wanted her baby to have a better life than the one she would've given him or her.
