I couldn't believe that all of my big kids were at school already! Sophia (age 8), Rion, and Lena (age 5) were all at elementary school so Taylor, Lukey and I had the long days to ourselves. Ever since I started working only very limited time at home, I was able to bond a lot more with Luke and Taylor, the way I got to bond with the other kids. ANd now that the were all on school-- it was great news for twinnies #2. Anyway, Luke and Taylor and I were at a park having a picnic. Well, Taylor and I were having the picnic while Luke searched for bugs. Taylor was girly, and Luke was like Rion's twin- sporty and geeky at the same time. Sophia had started to become more into school, and was extremely smart, and was on the swim team as well. She won every race; of course WE knew why...

Rion was into sports. This year, he was planning on playing baseball, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, and basketball. He's FIVE. Lena was much more artsy and free spirited. Not a hippie- just artsy. So then there's Luke and Taylor. Taylor loves music, which now makes it tacky that we named her Taylor after Taylor Swift, but you know what? Too bad. Luke was sporty; very sporty. He was already playing soccer at age THREE.

But ANYWAYS... back to the story. SO we're at this park having a picnic, and then it got really hot. It was one of those weird September days where it's unbearably hot. SO we decided to walk home and hang out at home. Luke was moaning and moaning about how his feet hurt, yet he was in the stroller, so after a while, Taylor just put her hand ovet his mouth and told him to "be quiet owr I'm tellin' daddy!" SO after that he was like a church mouse. We got home safely and I decided it would be fun for them if I turned on the sprinklers so they could run through them. SO I sent the littles outside while i scrubbed away at the pot I had burned making popcorn the night before.

Getting the stains off of the pot was taking forever, so I just gave up and went upstairs to get a bathing suit on so I could tan and play with the kids. Then, of course when I take my eyes off for two seconds, I hear a scream. A scream louder than any scream you've ever heard; Taylor's scream. I ran outside, with my bikini top and shorts on, searching for Taylor and Luke. The sprinkler was still running, but I knew Taylor's cry of glee, and her cry of horror. She had been scared of something. Probably a monster.

I searched frantically, and called their names, and eventually I called Percy and told him the situation.

"They gone?"

"Yes! Just, POOF!"

"Poof?"

"Yes!!!! G-O-N-E. GONE!!!! PERCY, I LOST MY CHILDREN!!"

"I'm sure they're hiding somewhere..."

"I LOOKED EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Well, have you called 911?"

"No I wanted to call you first." I heard heavy breathing on the other line.

"Percy?" I called.

"Yeah, I'm still here. How about I take the kids to Thalia's, and we can deal with this?"

"Okay..." I panted. I got on a shirt and jeans and waited.

I couldn't stand waiting while my children might be dying. It upset me, but I had to. Seconds felt like miinutes, and minutes like hours. Finally, Percy arrived home and dialed 9-1-1.

"Hello, 911, what's your emergency?"

"Two of our children went missing," Percy responded like lightning.

"Where did this occur?"

"At our home." I gave our address and our phone number to the woman.

"We'll send a few police over there. They're on their way."
