Ever since Rion and Selena had been born, Sophia threw less temper tantrums. She loved to help dress them in their matching outfits and do their hair and play with them. Everyday when I put them down for a nap, Sophia would beg to sleep in Rion and Selena's room.

"Mommy, pwease! I wanna sleep wif Wion and Sewena!" She would say it every time I tucked her into her little bed. At night, she'd say the same thing.

One night in mid-June, just as Percy and I went to bed, Percy asked me,

"Are Selena and Rion and Soph... are they like us? Will they attract monsters or will we? And aren't they technically half-bloods? They'll get claimed right?" I didn't know what to say. It reminded me of all the times that Percy and I had been in similar situations and he would ask a question I couln't answer.

"I-I have no idea. We should ask Chiron sometime. We have to take the twins back there. They loved it the first time. Well, goodnight Perce. Love you." He kissed me on the forehead.

"Love you too, Wise Girl."

I knew that percy was having dreams when he got out of bed. He had begun to keep a dream journal, and most nights he would get up and write in it. He and his students did it together. I rolled over to see his face, but he wasn't there. Then I heard a small growl. Then the clang of a sword. Cries erupted from the twins' room. I sprang out of bed, grabbing my dagger on the way out.

The room was chaos. Percy stood in front of the crib. Three dracenae stood opposite of him. blood was stained on Percy's shirt. The twins wailed loudly, and the dracenae hissed.

"Stay away from my kids!" Percy yelled. He wiped a drop of blood from his forehead lunged at the middle dracenae. I was about to join him when I felt a tug on my sleeve. I turned around to see Sophia standing there.

"Can I help?" she asked s\weetly.

I know what you're thinking--don't give a three year old weapons! But I had grown up with weapons around me since I was seven, and look where I am. Percy and I had let her lightly train at Camp every time we went, which was basically every month or two weeks. I went into the closet and took out her dagger, which was named Thigatera meaning daughter in Greek. We stepped into the room together, Sophia trembling behind me, the weight of the weapon still alien to her body. Percy shot me a smile when he saw us. I stood in front of the crib as Percy yet again lunged. But the middle dracenae took his swordand pointed it into Sophia's head and skull. I yelped and she wailed from the pain. As I pulled her away, blood began to flow from the wound. Percy cut the dracenae in half after that out of rage. I took a burp rag from under the crib to wipe away all of her blood. percy killed the other two dracenae instantly. Three piles of golden sand sat on the floor. Percy spread them around and then vacumed them up.  Then he took the twins in his arms. Sophia lay limp in my lap. There was dent in her skull wher the sword had been. She trembled with fear and pain. Tears streamed down her face. Percy took the twins downstairs to call Chiron.

In five muntes, Chiron arrived. He took one look at the wound and said,

"That will be permanent. She'll always have the dent. Why, the child has her first battle scar." I shook my head, thanking Chiron. He descended the stairs and said goodbye to Percy and the wtins on the way out.
