"Where are we going???" Rion asked for the hundreth time. He sat on his knees in the backseat, jumping up and down. Next to him, Luke looked at him and then tried to replicate the exact same position and jumping pattern. In front of them, in the middle row, Sophia, Lena, and Taylor watched Arabella Rose, some new movie they'd all been dying to get. It was the third time they'd watched it that day.

"It's a surprise, Rion, and if you keep asking, do you know what's gonna happen?" Percy had his Daddy Voice on, and looked at him through the rearview mirror.

"Yes." Rion mumbled.

It had been 1 hour and 45 minutes in the car when the GPS told us to make a right, and the destination was to our left.

"Cape Pedigree Golden Retrivers?" Sophia read expertly from a pamphlet on the floor. It took her a moment, but when she realized that was our destination, she smiled so wide that her mouth looked pained. She squealed, announcing to everyone that we were looking at puppies!!

I was as excited as her. It had taken some persuasion from Percy, but now I was pumped. That was the one thing missing from our perfect family; a pet!

We were out by farmland, and to our left stood a beautiful old farmhouse on a hill. We pulled up the driveway, and jumped out, the kids running anxiously to the walkway, where they slowed down. We made it to the front door, and knocked on it, a soft wind picking up the knock and carrying it to a foreign land.

An older woman walked out with an adorable puppy in her arms, her gray hair wisping around her head.

"Hello, I'm Annabeth Chase. This is my husband Percy, and our five kids Sophia, Rion, Selena, Luke, and Taylor. It's so good to finally meet you!"

"It's very nice to meet you as well. I'm Elizabeth Crawford." I shook the woman's old hands, wondering what stories lied in her.

"So are you thinking of getting a puppy?" Elizabeth asked as we walked into her home. It was adorable, and very clean. I heard the little barks coming from the kitchen, where five puppies stood in a row, each eating from his or her own bowl of food. Two full size dogs were in the living room, who I suspected to be the mother and father. It was magical, so full of life.

Elizabeth's house was very much like it had been pulled out of a fairytale. Everything resembled the houses I spotted in every Disney Princess movie.

Elizabeth told the kids they could play with the dogs in the living room, and showed them how to be gentle with the pups. The kids scurried off, and Percy followed them to keep an eye on them.

"Would you like some tea?" A kettle sat on the stove, from which Elizabeth began to pour herself a cup. I accept, stading to recieve the cup.

"Thanks. So are you from Massachusetts, originally?" I asked, trying to get a conversation going.

"Actually, I'm from Ohio. My father was in the army in World War I, and my late brother and late husband fought in World War II. I've moved around bit in my time on Earth is what I'm trying to say."

"Oh my gods-gosh, sorry, I meant gosh," Elizabeth looked at me questioningly, "I'm so sorry about your husband and brother. That must've been very hard for you."

"It was. But that's all about me, and you're here for the puppy! Sometimes I get carried away..." She looked longingly into the distance. But just as fast as she longed for someone, something, she got up and rushed me into the other room.

"We have six puppies right now, all from these two." Elizabeth lovingly patted the two adult dogs.

"Thsi lovely lady is Misty, and this feller is Duke. Now, we name the puppies, but you're more than free to change the name. It's just for their registration with the AKC." She walked over to where the puppies were. All of the kids were huddled around.

"I take it you're a pretty easy-going family with a lot going on, so I would suggest a boy, but you're not required to." I glanced at Percy, who nodded at me subtly.

"We're going with whateer you recommend, Elizabeth. We're great with a boy." Elizabeth smiled at us gladly. She picked up four of the puppies, taking them in her lap.

"Here we have Bentley, Harley, Jesse, and Cody. Bentley is certainly the laziest of the litter; might not be ideal for the active bunch of kids you have... Harley is a good combination of active and cozy, and he's doing a great job with potty-training. Jesse and Cody are both über active, and they never stop. Jesse loves to bark, so if  you don't want an even noisier house, he might not be ideal. I'd personally recommend Harley, but it's up to you." The little puppy with the red handkerchief around his neck came over to me and sat in my lap. Percy put his arm around me and let the little puppy lick  his hand. I wanted this one. I looked at his collar.

"He's perfect. Don't you think?" Percy nodded. The kids smiled brightly and nodded as well.

"We'll take Harley, Elizabeth." Percy stood and Elizabeth led him to the kitchen for the payment.

"Of course. I'll get you all set up in a moment." She smiled as the puppies followed her. I looked at the kids, their faces lit up and confused as if they thought it was a dream and they didn't want to wake up. I hoped it wasn't, but I felt that way too.

"And there  you go!" Elizabeth clapped her hands as she led Harley back into the living room.

"So, I'm going to give you this," She handed me a little chew toy. "It's part of his baby blanket. Might make him less home-sick for the first few days. And you also need this... and this." I recieved a small bag of dog food and his bandanna.

"I know he'll be very happy with you and your family." And that was the first time I took him in my arms. His little muzzle snuggled into my shoulder and he barked with glee. I smiled and laughed at he licked my face.

We waved goodbye to Elizabeth, and piled into the car. But this time, everyone was excited. Sophia held Harley in her lap. She and the others told the little guy everything he needed  to know. When we arrived home, Rion cried out.

"Wait!! Mom! We haven't named him!" I looked at him, completely dumbfounded. We hadn't even considered a name.

"Well, we'll have to fix that!" So the naming process started yet again.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Hey everyone!! How are you? Thanks so much for reading the chapter! Another family member for the Jacksons! I have a few things about the Sophia story, Hero's Daughter:

First of all, I'm going to be updating that one less than this simply because I want to get caught up. Once they're at the same place, I'll post both frequently. Also, I know you're all waiting for Chapter One of HD... Well, it's coming! I'll probably post it this weekend; I always get loads of writing done when I'm babysitting, and guess what? I'm babysitting my brothers and their friend this weekend. So that's good! Anyway, thanks so much guys, you're amazing :)

QUESTION OF THE CHAPTER:

1. WHAT SHOULD THE PUPPY BE NAMED?!?!?!?!?!?!? LMK! :)

2. Should I continue Emily Webster and the Gods of Olympus? Or should I end it? If I keep it, I'll be slow on updating (weekly), but I will updating. You choose! THanks guys :)

XOXOXOXO
