As Sophia and I got in the car, Percy waved goodbye. He had a smile as wide as the sea itself on his face.

"See you after school, Soph! I'll see you after work, Annabeth!" He called out. I waved back, and so did Soph. We drove for about twenty minutes before reaching the preschool. I found a parking spot among all of the cars. Three banners that wrapped around the school read 'WELCOME' or 'WELCOME BACK!' or 'WELCOME NEW PRESCHOOLERS!'

"Wow..." Sophia said as I unbuckled her. She held my hand, but walked slowly, taking in every bit of the place. As I walked through the door, she stayed out for a moment, then sighed. We walked over to where lots of kids Soph's age were gathered with their parents. A middle-aged woman stood in the center of the group.

"Welcome! My name is Mrs. Prescott. I am the headmaster here. I would love to give all of the new students a huge welcome, and the returning students a welcome back! I am looking forward to a wonderful year with all of you! Okay, now for the classes... In the Butterfly Class with Mrs. Dale and Ms. Smith, we have the following children." Mrs. Prescott named about fifteen children.

"In the Dragonfly class with Ms. Chandra and Ms. Salena, we have the following kids." Another list of fifteen or so kids.

"And now for the Caterpillar Class with Mrs. Adams and Ms. Spencer, we have

-Zoe Yang" I bent down to give Sophia a big hug.

"Love you Sophia." I gave her a kiss on the head. Then she followed her class into a little classroom. The parents all filed into a room with coffee. It was a little meet-and-greet for the new parents. I looked in the classroom to see Soph playing with that little girl Calista. I saw her mom over by the window, all alone. I approached her with my coffee.

"Hi. I'm Annabeth Jackson. It's nice to meet you. Your daighter is Calista, right?" The woman nodded.

"We call her Callie. She really likes your daughter, Sophia." I told her that Sophia loved Callie.

"Where do you guys live?" I asked her.

"Oh, about twenty minutes from here. Oh, speaking of twenty minutes, I have to go to work. Nice meeting you, Annabeth!" She called as she hurried out. I walked out as well, so I could get to work.

At around 2:30, I picked Sophia up from school.

"What did you do at school?" I asked her as we drove home. Thalia was being our nanny for the time being, so she was home with the twins. They were probably asleep. I had to drop off Sophia and then go back to work.

"We did paintings. And dwawings. And I played wif Callie." Sophia announced. The whole way home she sang this song about going home now. It was adorable. She even recorded on my phone.

After I dropped off Sophia, I began to drive back to work. My phone was ringing so I picked it up.

"Percy? Hi." I told him.

"How's our little preschooler princess?"
