Chapter 118: Love Birds

It was the American Got Talent's finals. The judges were dressed in extravagant clothes as the crowd roared to the first participant in merriment. It was a funny magician that brought smiles to people's faces despite his old age. His performance was simply magnificent. The audience loved him.

Next were a set of twins. Maria and Mario with their explicit dancing skills. They did a salsa, ballet and hip-hop mixed dance and the crowd cheered their names.

M&M! M&M!!

Ruby was the next participant. She's bold and courageous but the outrageous amount audience and lightning still gave her goosebumps.

"Don't worry. Everything would be alright." Gabby encouraged.

"Okay, Gabby. I'd try my best." She promised and took out a deep sigh.

The next contestant is... Ruby Darlings!!!

"Yaaaayyyy!!!" The crowd cheered up as she walked to the stage...

"I took an arrow to the heart,
I never kissed a mouth that tastes like yours..
Strawberries and somethin’ more
Ooh yeah, I want it all
Lipstick on my guitar (Ooh)..."

'Trrrrrrrrr.... Trrrrrrrrrrr-' All the lights suddenly went off and the speaker distorted as if being tampered with. Everyone turned to themselves with disappointment boldly written on their faces. No one expected this, not knowing  Ted Styles. The sound editor and technician purposely tempered with the cord. He was bribed by M&M's parents, whom were well influenced people withing the state.

As if everything became a blur, Ruby's heart suddenly stopped working. Let lips shivered like an early morning leaves. She felt tear trickle down her eyes as her hands trembled to the microphone.

"Boo! Booo!!! Booooo!!!" The audience gave her a thumbs down. Sobbing silently, Ruby turned back but she met A figure in the darkness.

"Read me slowly....
Word by word...."

He started. It was the exact voice of Gabby. The lights suddenly went on and everyone wee surprised to see that he was the one. They cheered up and screamed out loud for the both of them as Ruby joined in singing.

"Line by line.
With my lips on yours."

Jade took over with his crazy moves. The audience whistled louder in incitement.

"When song and letters are written and wasted.
When heartbreaks and tears are all forgotten instead.
Would you be my girl, girl girl girl girl girl...
My girl, girl?
They did a duet and it sounded so unique."

"Dried roses,
betwixt our soul pages.
Music and lyrics,
Twists and dances.
When it's dark and moonless.
Would I still be this hopeless?
Would you be my girl, girl girl girl girl girl...
My girl, girl?...

The music ended with both of them staring into each other's eyes and holding each other closely. Lost in her cuteness, he grabbed Ruby's hand and pulled her back inside."

It was a very sloppy kiss with the strong scent of mint being exchanged in the intermingling of their billowing breaths on the stage. Parents that had brought their kids to attend covered their faces immediately.

Finally, Gabby let go of her lips. It only lasted for a couple of seconds. They took in a deep breath before she duged back. All she could feel was the hysteria burning inside of her.  With weird faces, the audience stood up and gave a thunderous applause. It was a wonderful performance, indeed.
