“Do you want me to tell you how much BB Company makes every year?”
“You can tell that to your staffs, Mr. CEO! I’m not interested! It’s no point talking to you. I wonder how your business partners deal with you. It seems you don’t understand a word I’ve told you since we’ve met! The only money I’m concerned about is my monthly salary! I’m living a fulfilled life. I don’t need you or anything from you!”
Although Jade was boiling inside, all he wanted was being able to convince Sapphire and end it all, but it seemed difficult.
“Miss, you have the potential to inherit an immense fortune. Don’t you care about it?” He asked, persuasively.
“If I’m really inheriting a vast fortune, I’m interested. But if I have to marry you to get that money, I’ll have to refuse. It’s not like I’m starving, or I don’t have good clothes to wear! I don’t really want to get married just to inherit someone’s fortune. Either did I want to get involved in any of these instead? So, talk it over with your grandfather nicely. And tell him I completely opposed to this.” She explained.
As Jade observed Sapphire, she sighed.
“So, you really mean it?”“Yes. I’ve really meant it from the very start.” She scoffed and carried her handbag.
About to leave her phone. Sapphire remembered and quickly put it into her bag. Like a child expecting a hug from Santa Claus, Jade glanced at her vividly, but Sapphire rolled her eyes at him and left the restaurant.
For the first time in his entire life, Jade felt like a tiny finger. He looked so inadequate. It’s been years since he’s been convincing various kinds of business executives that visit his hotel from different spares if the world, but this has been the most difficult so far.
Eating lunch, Sapphire thought about how her day had been.
“Scammers can do whatever and go to any length to get what they want. Even if he’s not a scammer, I don’t want to get myself involved with the rich! All they do is to use you for their own benefit and dump you like a piece of garbage! Such wicked beings!” A hateful hiss escaped her lips while she chewed on the piece of hamburger. An unexpected call entered. After two rings, she answered.
“Hello mum!”“How are you, my dear? Are you prepared for tomorrow? He said it’s going to be the Blue Bird Hotel. I’m so excited for you, my dear. It’s going to be you and Damien tomorrow!” Sapphire heard her mum’s excited voice over the phone. She just rolled her eyes.
“Yes mum. I know, and I’m fully prepared.”
“Okay. I just wanted to wish you good luck. Also, wear something sexy and beautiful, okay?” Her feminine voice warned over the phone.
“Okay mum.” She blushed and hung up.
“Good for you, mum. You’re already married. And you have nothing to worry about. Unlike me.” Sapphire stared at her reflection in the mirror. She stopped for a moment and let out a deep sigh.
“Tomorrow, here I come. And I’ll have to waste you by going to another marriage meeting with some stranger. How terrible my life is already?!” she hissed and carried a big toothed comb on the table. Gently, she brushed through her beautiful cocoa- brown hair, with the thought of how her visit with Damien would be. He’s the sixth guy she’s going on a date with in the last two months. Harry, Stanley, Gorge, Aidan, Carlos and now, Damien.
The following morning, Jade walked to the table where a beautiful woman sat. She had a honey-brown, wavy hair and two pearl earrings on the lobe of her ears.
“So sorry for keeping you waiting, mum.” Jade hissed her cheek as he took his seat.
“Don’t worry, my dear. I just got here as well. I’m super excited to see my son.” She smiled with excitement glittering in her eyes.
