Sapphire shivered in anxiety as she pushed herself from him in a shriek.
“What’s that?”
“Isn’t it natural that our relationship makes some progress? But I gave it some thought, and I had a strict upbringing, so I will not sleep with you after our first date.” Jade explained with a smile as he unfixed Sapphire’s keys from the key holder.
“I don’t want to sleep with you, either!” She yelled at him. “You motherfuck--” She stepped on his toes with her white sneakers.
“Ow! Ow!” Jade cried out in pain, holding his feet.
“What was that all about, uh?”
“I should be the one asking that right now! Never bring up anything like making progress or whatnot. You were basically asking for a beating!” She hissed and walked away.
“You’re going without a goodbye? Is that how they do in relationships?” He yelled at her and she tried not to turn back to him.
Sapphire smiled back at him and walk towards him like a happy bird.
“Get home safe or not. I didn’t care!” She stamped on his other feet and ran away.
“Ow!” Jade robbed his toes and huffed.
Driving back home, he couldn’t help but to think about how she struggled to get her keys from him. How he stared at her so deep and kissed her. He remembered the shock in her eyes as it shimmered.
“Ugh! What were you thinking, Jade? Why did you do that?” He asked himself as he drove to a bar.
Thinking about it made him happy. It’s the first time.Sapphire got to her room and switched on the socket. The kiss touched and shook her. She placed her handbag on the table and dropped to the floor in tears.
“Asshole! He kissed me! That idiot!” She touched her lips. Her fingers trembled on it like a drop of dew on the edge of a leaf. Just then, Sapphire noticed her body was shaking.
“He’s a total player!” She covered her eyes in her palms, trying not to think about it, but she couldn’t. Jade was just there. “The jerk!”

Lucas was working in the office when Jade called him to meet up with him at the bar. Lucas has to rush there immediately to get all the gist. He wouldn’t want to miss it for anything.
In minutes, Lucas walked into the bar as he caught Jade’s view. He was to pick a seat where Jade sat.
“Stop the reporters. That’s not part of the contract after all.” Jade complained to his friend.
“How do you expect me to stop them, Jade? I’m just a lawyer. BB Company itself should stop them instead.” Lucas poured a portion of the drink into the cup before him.
“Just do as I ask and stop complaining.” Jade muttered and took a cup of whiskey.
“You’re the one who caused this mess, and yet, I’m the one to clean it up. So, why did you even show up at an official event with a woman?” Lucas whooshed. “Didn’t you know the reporters will involve her in their stupid coverage as well?”
“I wasn’t completely unaware of that. Again, I did it because I know you can stop the reporters. So, take responsibility and stop whining like a baby in diapers.” Jade hissed at his friend.
“Wow! You’re really the sly one!” Lucas tried not to smile, but his smile was noticeable.
Jade poured more whiskey into the wineglass, drinking more than he remembered those words. They were Sapphire’s. Lucas smiled, made Jade smiled too. He tried not to laugh, but he chuckled softly.
