Poppy

"Good morning beautiful, time to get up,"

"No,"

"Come on, you'll see your friends,"

Usually mum opened my curtains, but Elijah was snoring, and had gone out last night, so she didn't. Instead, she gave me my phone and opened my wardrobe, finding me an outfit.

"Shorts?"

"Jeans,"

She got out some blue jeans and a white top, then a flannel shirt, taking them to the bathroom; I got my crutches and went through, changing as quickly as I could.

As I left the room, Nathan came past, already dressed with his bag one his shoulder. I watched him grab a piece of toast, then he left, slamming the door behind him.

Bailey was stomping round too.

"How would you like your hair today?"

"Plaits again please,"

"Okie dokie, I will do it at the table though,"

"Why is everyone mad?"

"Bailey and Nathan aren't allowed to contact their dad anymore,"

"That's a relief, he did bad stuff to Bailey,"

"He did," she said, "And Nathan, but he's feeling a bit upset for his own reasons;"

"Oh,"

I sat down and she began to do my hair, dad making me some toast as I sat there. The mood in the house was uncomfortable, and I didn't get why Nathan was so angry when his dad had done so many horrible things to Bailey, and probably him.

Since Jasper was also still asleep, dad took Lauren upstairs to get ready, and the twins always woke up early, so they were ready too. Bailey was still in pyjamas and had a tear stained face.

"Sweetheart, would you liked to come and sit in my office today?" Mum asked.

"Yeah,"

"Okay, pack some bits to do,"

"Mum, I wanna come," I said, "Please?"

"Not today, you will have fun seeing your friends,"

She put the two plaits infront of me and I finished my toast, shuffling across to Bailey to give her a hug. In my arms, she began to cry, so I kissed her head and rubbed her back like dad and Luke always did to me.

"He is mad that we can't contact him, even after everything he did to me,"

"That is so bad,"

"I know. He was bad to Nathan too, though, I don't get why he is so angry,"

"Maybe he is just confused because he was talking to his dad normally,"

"He shouldn't be,"

"I don't know. I am on your side,"

"Thank you Poppy, I love you,"

I let go and finished my toast, then brushed my teeth and waited by the front door for someone to help me put my shoes on. Thankfully, Payton came to the rescue.

"I like your outfit today,"

"Thank you," I blushed, "Mum chose it,"

"She chose mine too!"

"Are we ready to go?" Mum called, "Has everyone got lunch?"

"I have my lunch mummy," Lauren said, running to the door, "Let's go!"
