I was about to close my laptop when my secretary entered the room.
"Sir?"
Hinarap ko siya ng makalapit sa table ko at kinuha ang folder na inaabot niya. Agad kong binasa 'yon at pinirmahan.
"Sorry po, Sir. Late kasi binigay ng department dahil nagkaproblema daw po."
Tumango ako.
"It's fine."
Ngumiti siya sa akin. I look at her belly. I'm sure, that child would really look like my friend.
"Sir, may naghihintay po pala sa inyo sa lobby..."
I raised my brow.
"Who?"
"Miss Kitty daw po..."
Unti-unti akong napangiti. I fixed my things so I can go home already.
Finally!
Hindi pa man ako nakakarating sa lobby ay nakakarinig na ako ng mga hagikgikan. My eyes drifted in the location department. Kitang kita kong naghulasan sila na malalaki ang ngiti sa labi.
Alas otso pa lang at maaga kong tinapos ang mga gawain kahit Friday pa lang ngayon. We plan to visit my house and rest there for the weekend. I don't know if I should be happy or not because after that, she will go back to Davao.
"Ten."
Umangat ang tingin niya sa akin bago tumayo. She was busy with her phone and didn't even noticed my presence.
Tumayo siya at agad kaming ngumiti sa isa't-isa. Damn. I miss her so much.
"Are you done?"
Tumango ako at hinalikan siya sa pisngi.
"Diba dito nagt-trabaho si Mark?"
I chuckled.
"He resigned."
Nanlaki ang mga mata niya. I felt her arms loosen on my waist.
Naglalakad kami pababa ng building. I can see people looking at us curiously.
"Really? Why?"
Nakarating kami sa Parking lot at sumandal na ako sa tapat ng kotse ko.
I grab her waist and hug her. Nagpatianod naman siya.
"He went away."
Kumunot ang noo niya. "Why?"
Naamoy ko ang matamis na pabango niya. I can't wait to be home with her.
Pagod ko siyang tinignan. I can't believe we're talking about other's relationship after a week of busy schedules.
"What happened?" Usisa niya.
I kissed her nose. "Why are you so curious?"
Umirap siya.
"Of course, we're friends."
I chuckled. "I don't really know. Why is everybody breaking up?"
She turn to me and I saw her amused.
"Hmm..." Nilubog ko ang mukha ko sa balikat niya.
She smells like home.
Humarap siya sa akin at tinaasan ako ng kilay.
I smirked at her.
"Kung hindi ko narinig sila Win na nag-uusap... baka hindi na tayo nagtagpo ulit."
"Mabuti at chismoso ka?" Ngumisi siya.
