"HEY!!" a six-year-old boy yelled as he ran across the park, towards the lonely new kid of his size that he had noticed.
The new kid looked up and widened his eyes excitedly, happy that someone was going to play with him despite the place being new to him. "Heyy!!" he greeted back at the kid who was now grinning in front of him.
"You wanna play with me?" the grinning kid asked, showing the new kid his toy gun. The new kid nodded excitedly, "yes, yes," he said.
The grinning kid grinned harder and grabbed the new kid's wrist and the two of them ran all the way back towards the grinning kid's mother.
"Eomma, I got a new f'iend!!" the grinning kid exclaimed, but his mother didn't pay attention, "good, Tae. Go and play with him then," she said and continued talking to her own friend on phone.
"JIMIN-AH!!" another woman yelled as she looked around, and once she spotted her son playing with someone on the other side of the park, she rolled her eyes and walked towards them.
"JIMIN!!" she yelled and the new kid's eyes widened, realizing that he had totally forgotten about her. Scared, he picked up his friend's toy gun and turned around, aiming it at his incoming mother. "I'm sorry!!" he exclaimed.
His mother rolled her eyes again and proceeded to scold him for leaving without letting her know, and his lips wobbled violently.
Not liking the way Jimin's mother kept scolding him, the kid named Tae went to his mother and tugged at her skirt.
"What, Tae?" his mother asked. "That Ajeomma is scolding my f'iend," Tae complained with a pout.
Just then, a loud wail caught her attention, and she looked up at the noise and found a lady hugging her crying son.
"Jihyo, I'll call you later," she told her friend and hung up on her. Frowning a little, she approached the mother and son.
"It's okay, it's okay, don't cry now, baby, Eomma is sorry, okay? Eomma just got scared when she didn't find you. You know when we are outside, you should never go away from Eomma, right? What if someone took you away?" she found the woman explaining to her sniffling son.
"Excuse me, are you new in this locality?" she asked and the woman looked up. "Yeah, I'm sorry we had to meet like this. My husband's at the new house, moving in, and I brought my son here so that he could play without disturbing them," the new woman explained.
"Oh, nice, nice. My name is Dahyun. This is my son, Kim Taehyung," she said, putting a hand on Taehyung's shoulder.
"Oh, very nice to meet you, Dahyun-ssi, this is my son, Park Jimin," she pointed to the kid who was now sniffling while looking down at the grass under his feet, "and I am Soohyeon."
Dahyun looked down and patted her son's shoulder. "Go and play, both of you. Don't go anywhere else, or Tae, you know what will happen, right?" she said and Taehyung knew not to cross his line after his mother's oh-so-sweet warning. He nodded dutifully and off he went with Jimin, towards the slides nearby.
"What's your villa number?" Dahyun asked, gesturing to a bench nearby for them to sit on and watch over their sons at the same time.
"107," Soohyeon said and Dahyun gasped. "No way!!" she exclaimed, making Soohyeon chuckle. "What?" she asked, but Dahyun continued with her own revelation. "I didn't even know it was put up for sale, what the hell?! I live in 108!! I didn't even know people were moving into it!! I must be going deaf and blind, oh my god," she kept rambling.
Soohyeon laughed hard. "The truck came only half-an-hour ago, Dahyun-ssi," she laughed, "I'm sure you were at the park longer than that. And yeah, no one knew the villa was being put up for sale because the ones who owned it before were friends of my in-laws and when they told my in-laws that they were thinking of selling it, my in-laws asked my husband to buy it. So yeah, the word never got out," she explained.
