Three weeks later......
"WHERE'S THE BIRTHDAY BOY?!" the aunt of the birthday boy yelled the second Taehyung opened the door for her and their parents.
"Hyung's getting him ready," Taehyung said with his eyes rolling upwards, seemingly fed up with his sister before the party could even begin. "How are things with your boyfriend now?" he asked. "It's all okay now, don't wor-"
"Hiya!!" a two-point-two-foot, two-year-old man ran down the stairs and stood proudly, grinning widely at his favourite aunt.
"Awww, my nephew!!" Taeyeon ran forward and swept him off the floor, turning around in circles as she held him up in the air, earning hearty giggles from him.
After making him giggle a fair share for the day, she brought him down and secured her arms around him, holding him tight while eyeing her brother with a frown. "Where are the rest?" she asked and Taehyung rolled his eyes again.
"The party's supposed to start at six. It's only four now," he said and earned himself a noogie from his mother. "Eomma!!" he pouted, to which Dahyun chuckled and settled on the couch along with her husband, who was already on it with his nose buried into the newspaper that Jeongguk had already read that morning over breakfast.
"Who's that making my baby pout?!" Jeongguk asked in mock anger, walking down the stairs and wrapping an arm around Taehyung's waist protectively.
Exchanging a wink with his mother-in-law when Taehyung wasn't looking, he then brought his own hands up, rubbing the noogied area gently. Taehyung smiled proudly, throwing a smug smile in his mother's direction, but not even a second later, he felt knuckles press into his head once again, this time a lot harder and sharper.
His eyes widened as he yelped, jumping out of Jeongguk's clutches with a loud whine. "Et tu, brute?!" he screamed and shoved Jeongguk away from him. This time, not just Dahyun, but Jeongguk, Taeyeon, Hyungsik and Dohyeon had a good laugh as well.
('Et tu brute?!' is an exclamation of betrayal from the famous play Julius Caesar.)
"I hate every sing-" a knock on the door cut him off, making him scowl at the door.
"The party's at six!! Did I inform you guys wrong timings or something?!" he asked, frowning as he let his best friend and his girlfriend in.
"No, of course not. We just came to spend time with the birthday boy," Jeongyeon said, grinning offhandedly as she approached Taeyeon and pinched Dohyeon's cheeks gently.
"Oh?! Where did your TV go?!" Taeyeon suddenly exclaimed and Taehyung heard Jeongguk say, "Dohyeon threw a ball at it and it toppled over."
Taehyung rolled his eyes again and then looked at Jimin in earnest, rolling his bottom lip into a pout that had Jeongguk's heart tugging towards his feet for no apparent reason. "Jimin-ah," he pouted further, making puppy eyes at his brother-like best friend.
Jimin chuckled, going a little weak in the legs from the face that his best friend was pulling. He side-eyed Jeongguk and found him going a little weak-legged as well, chuckling slightly as he watched him grab a table nearby for support.
"What happened?" he asked, waving his left hand in front of his face before placing it on Taehyung's shoulder and steering him gently into the living room. "They are abusing me," Taehyung pouted harder, pointing childishly at his mother and husband.
Jimin chuckled harder, eyeing Jeongguk and Dahyun once again before looking back at Taehyung. "What did they do?" he asked, but before Taehyung could even give him a proper reply, there was a loud knock on the door again, making him pout even harder. "The party's at six!!" he mumbled exasperatedly, knowing exactly who was knocking on the door.
