"Are you ready, Taehyung?!"

"Yeah, yeah, gimme a minute, I'm almost done!!" Taehyung called out from upstairs.

Jeongguk sighed and crossed his legs once again on the couch as he waited for his husband to get ready.

They were literally just going to Jeongguk's parents' house, why was Taehyung trying so hard to get ready? His parents had literally seen Taehyung even at his lowest moments, so why was he suddenly dying to impress them?

He took his phone out and opened Instagram to pass time, smiling a little at the fact that his husband had liked every single post that he had ever posted on that account. He had even commented on a few of them.

And to think he was the one who stalked.

Taehyung, on the other hand, was struggling to hook his bracelet. He had gotten ready long ago, but this bracelet was really testing his non-existent patience.

After a while, he decided to just ask Jeongguk to do it for him and turned towards the door, only to freeze when out of the blue, Jeongguk yelled "SHUT UP!!"

His eyes widened as he yanked the door open and rushed down the stairs to see what was wrong, but Jeongguk was already on a full spree by then with his back facing Taehyung.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO THE COURT AGAIN?! WHAT AM I PAYING YOU FOR?! DO YOUR JOB RIGHT IF YOU ARE GONNA WORK AS MY PERSONAL LAWYER!!"

Taehyung could clearly hear the man on the phone as well, seeing as the house was so silent. And it sounded a little familiar to him, but he couldn't exactly place the voice yet. Seokjin hyung, maybe? He couldn't be sure.

"Gguk, I know you are panicked right now, but you know the procedure. Just because you pay me doesn't mean I can go against the ru-"

"FUCK THOSE RULES THEN!! WHAT WILL I DO IF HE FIN-" Jeongguk turned around right then and froze after making eye contact with his husband, muttering 'fuck' again, this time under his breath.

Taehyung frowned at that, taking a step forward with the background sounds of the man on the call asking Jeongguk if he was alright.

"Gguk, I can ask Hobi to hire a couple of bodygu-"

"I'll talk to you later, hyung, bye," Jeongguk said shakily and hung up on the man on the phone without taking his widened eyes off of his husband.

"Are you okay?" Taehyung asked, hesitantly holding an arm out, but Jeongguk took a step back and held his own hand out as well. "I'm fine," he said, and gulped, "let's go."

"Are you sure? Christmas will come again, we can go whenever we want. You take some rest or something, you are sweating," Taehyung pointed out.

Jeongguk brought his hand down and gulped again, "you are right," he said and with that, he walked up the stairs and disappeared into the room again for the rest of the day.

Taehyung rolled his eyes as he ordered lunch in the afternoon and dinner in the evening for the two of them and ate alone in the kitchen after leaving half of both of them for Jeongguk in the bedroom. He could hear him talking to someone hushedly in the bedroom, but he didn't feel like eavesdropping when he himself was feeling so horrible.

The more Jeongguk shut everything out, the more Taehyung's blood boiled. How long was he supposed to adjust to this man when this man was totally unwillingly to change himself even a little for him?

A compromise was supposed to happen both ways, right? Why was Taehyung feeling like he was the only one adjusting to everything just because his husband 'had lived his whole life that way and suddenly can't change everything for him'?
