Italics - Past Jeongguk POV
Normal - Present Jeongguk POV

***************

Four years, Eight and a half months ago.....

"Ugghhhh," Jeongguk groaned with a hand already on his head as he sat up. The intensity of his headache told him he must have drunk tons the previous night.

And that explained the void in his brain regarding the previous day.

He didn't panic. He knew he wasn't the type to remember what happened when he got drunk. He got used to remembering all of his embarrassing actions a couple of days later.

He didn't understand why he was at his recently married friends' new house's guest room, though. Why wasn't he back at his own house? With another groan, he got off the bed and trudged into the washroom, knowing exactly where the painkillers were.

He quickly popped in a couple of them and made his way down, only to find Seokjin tucking his shirt in, getting ready for the court. Namjoon was tucking his own shirt as well, but both of them looked so serious that Jeongguk had to take a double-take.

"What's with the mood?" he asked, but received a reply from neither of them.

"Hyung?" he called out hesitantly but again, there was no response. He frowned. What was happening?

He could only see Namjoon's side profile, but he was sure he could see him rolling his eyes. He frowned more at that. Really, what was happening?

He tried a couple of times more and when the two of them just left for their work without responding to him, his blood boiled. What on earth was happening?!

He stormed into the guest room and collected his things which were scattered on the table and left the house, not even bothering to lock the main door on his way out.

His mood was so down the whole morning that he couldn't concentrate on any of his morning classes. In the afternoon, he had to rush to his father's company for the internship that he had scored himself in it a couple of weeks ago.

Yoongi and Hoseok were already working at the company, and it was common for them to maintain professional ethics at the company when they walked into each other, but they usually met during the snack break to catch up.

However, today, Jeongguk didn't even notice it was break time until it was quarter past five. Frowning, he got out of his room, deciding to get Yoongi out of whatever work he was buried in, only to find his cabin empty.

'What the fuck?' he thought and went to the cafeteria alone, only to find Hoseok and Yoongi having the last sip of their coffee albeit grimly. "The hell?! Why didn't you call me?!" he asked them, but just like that morning, he didn't receive any reply from the two of them either.

He looked around with a frown and deciding not to embarrass himself in front of his seniors and teammates, he turned around and walked right out of the cafeteria.

After that, he couldn't concentrate on his work the entire evening. What on earth was wrong with his friends?  Did he do something wrong? Didn't they normally just say it out loud when he did something wrong? What was with this silent treatment?

It ate his mind up.

At seven, when Hoseok didn't come to fetch him so that they could go back home together, he felt worse. What did he do?

He drove straight to Seokjin's house to talk it out, but while Seokjin tried to ignore his existence, Namjoon straight out locked himself in his bedroom (after slamming the door really hard) the second Jeongguk set foot in the house.
