Poor Jeongguk faced a long interrogation from Jimin before the two friends decided to abandon him and join the dance floor.
He just sat on a stool, rested his elbow on the platform and his cheek on his fist, and stared at the two of them having a blast with the dances.
When the bartender offered him a drink, he shook his head and got back to staring at his husband. He got so lost in his happy face that he didn't notice a very familiar man stumbling towards him with a bottle in his hand.
Not until he felt a harsh boot crash to the side of his body and he ended up hitting his head to the front bar harshly, making several people gasp. He wasn't given the time to collect himself or understand what was happening as the man grabbed him by his collars and yanked him to the floor, punching his face in the process.
Jeongguk didn't fight back, his mind still struggling to understand what was happening. His hands still flailed, trying to stop the man from attacking him, but the man didn't stop until he was thrown away harshly by Taehyung.
"Oh my god, are you okay?!?!" Taehyung asked, kneeling in front of Jeongguk, whose head still spun with the previous hit.
It took a couple of seconds for Jeongguk's eyes to focus. "Jeongguk hyung??" Taehyung called out again and this time, Jeongguk responded. "What even happened?" he asked, making to sit up from the floor.
Jimin was on his other side, holding him by his arm while Taehyung stared at his front to assess the damage, but whipped his head up to stare at the drunk man in shock when he started screaming threats at Jeongguk while the security dragged him out.
"I'LL COME BACK, FUCKER!! I'LL COME BACK AND KI-" he was thrown out by then and they couldn't hear the rest of his threat.
When Taehyung looked back at Jeongguk with his eyes blown wide in shock, he found him glaring at the floor with his jaw clenched tight. "Let's go home, I'll treat your cut," he said, looking worriedly at the cut on Jeongguk's cheekbone.
Jeongguk closed his eyes at that and took an intimidating breath that made Taehyung want to back away, but he didn't budge. His husband was hurt and it was his duty to treat him even if he felt scared of him at the moment.
"Let's go," Jeongguk said and stood up, but stumbled right away and Jimin and Taehyung rushed to catch him before he fell.
"Sorry. Let's go now," he said and tried to yank his arms away from the two of them. Taehyung didn't try to grab him again and stopped Jimin from doing so as well, knowing how Jeongguk felt about touching. Instead, the two of them walked behind Jeongguk with their hands held out just in case they had to catch him again.
"Do you think we need to go to the ER? You hit your head, right?" Taehyung asked outside the bar, but Jeongguk firmly shook his head and settled into the passenger seat with his legs and arms crossed and glared at the road outside the window. It made Taehyung feel like he had no more say in the matter.
He silently walked towards the driver's seat and held his hand out for the car's keys. Jimin bid them goodbye and left before Jeongguk could feel more embarrassed about what had happened.
"I won't say it's alright for the man to just do that, but maybe he was mad at someone and mistook you for them in his drunk state," Taehyung tried to comfort Jeongguk, but didn't receive a response from him.
He hesitantly threw a glance at him and found him glaring harder at the world outside the car. "....hyung?" he called out hesitantly and Jeongguk shifted his glare towards Taehyung. "Just drive," he said through gritted teeth and got back to glaring at the world outside.
