The engagement party was grand, to say the least.

But what bothered Taehyung was, while the area was full of their families and friends, Jeongguk didn't introduce him to a single friend of his. He just kept greeting every friend of Taehyung that Taehyung dragged him to talk to, and that was it.

"Are you not going to introduce me to your friends?" Taehyung asked at some point and Jeongguk shook his head with a shrug, "I don't have friends," he said.

Taehyung turned away and rolled his eyes, 'Of course you don't. I would have been surprised if someone was willing to put up with your prickly attitude,' he thought.

Just then, Jimin materialized out of nowhere, holding three bottles of whiskey. "Let's go," he said and Taehyung looked at Jeongguk, "you're joining us, right?" he asked. Jeongguk sighed and nodded. "But I don't drink," he said.

Taehyung shrugged and rolled his eyes again discreetly, "your loss, our gain," he said and they walked towards a nearby table and settled down.

"So, Jeongguk hyung!!" Jimin started, but Jeongguk cleared his throat and looked at Taehyung, who understood what his problem was. "Yah!! It's 'ssi', not hyung!!" Taehyung said, smacking Jimin on his shoulder.

He himself had gotten the permission to call him 'hyung' only at the end of their latest date.

Jimin raised an eyebrow, but shrugged and continued, "so, Jeongguk-ssi, where are your friends?" he asked.

".....why are you so set on meeting my friends?" Jeongguk asked with a frown and Taehyung gulped this time. He cleared his throat and gave Jimin a glare and shook his head discreetly. "It's okay, we don't need to meet anyone. I'm tired already. I don-"

"Should I be offended that our Jeonggukie's fiance doesn't wanna meet us?" Taehyung heard someone say from behind him and the next second, four men occupied seats at their table and relaxed back as if they've known each other for long.

Jeongguk rolled his eyes and one of them made a 'tch' sound. "Don't roll your eyes on me, or I'm complaining to Jihyo Ajeomma," they said and it fascinated Taehyung how he could talk so closely with Jeongguk despite his obvious rudeness and lack of interest.

Jimin looked fascinated as well. Even though he wasn't as open about introversion as Taehyung was, he didn't like it much when people didn't express themselves openly either.

"Fuck off," Jeongguk mumbled and rolled his eyes again and Taehyung fought the urge to hold him by the back of his head and smash his face to the table. There were people who were being nice to him, and he was being like this to them?!

"Okay, then," another one of them said and got up with a smug smile. He seemed to be the shortest of all four of them. 'About as tall as Jiminie,' Taehyung thought as he watched the other three get up as well.

"Uhh, please stay," he requested, not wanting to offend his fiance's friends right on their first meeting, but the tallest of them laughed. "He doesn't want us to stay," he pointed to Jeongguk and pushed his chair back.

At that, Jeongguk rolled his eyes and looked away from them, "I never said that," he mumbled.

Taehyung scoffed, being utterly fed up with his fiance.

"I'm sorry, what was that, again?" one of them cupped their ear and leaned in close to Jeongguk's face. Taehyung noticed Jeongguk's face turn as red as a tomato and he couldn't hold back a little chuckle at the way his friends seemed to bully him.

"Stay!! Stay here and eat my brain!!" Jeongguk exclaimed a little loudly.

Taehyung could swear that was the first time he heard his fiance's voice go a little high. He noticed the way Jeongguk's friends smirked and sat back down. "That wasn't so hard now, was it?" one of them said and leaned back against their chair.
