Two months, Three weeks later....

"TAEHYUNG!!" Taehyung jolted up from his sleep, his heart beating fast from being jump-scared right out of his sleep. He frantically looked to his side, and as expected, found the bed empty of the tiny creature that usually slept between him and his husband.

He groaned, wondering what Dohyeon ended up doing this time, so early in the morning. Poor Taehyung always ended up getting scolded whenever Dohyeon did something weird, seeing as Jeongguk found it easier to scold him instead of scolding a certain tiny bundle of huge eyes and pouty lips and loud giggles and goos.

"JEON. FUCKING. TAEHYUNG!!" he heard again and pulled a crying face, realizing that his husband was beyond pissed at whatever Dohyeon had done this time. It didn't come as a surprise to him that Dohyeon's wail followed right after, signifying that he was with Jeongguk while the other yelled.

"TAEHYUNG, IF YOU DON'T COME DOWNSTAIRS BY THE TIME I COUNT TO TEN, I SWEAR TO GOD-"

"Coming, coming!!" he exclaimed loudly and threw his comforter off his body clumsily, his face adorning a sour expression as he stumbled towards the stairs outside the bedroom with his eyes still half open. He absolutely hated waking up to his husband's angry yells.

Unfortunately, early morning always seemed like the best time for their son to try all kinds of weird stunts in his life.

And poor Taehyung always ended up getting scolded in his place.

This time, however, something told him he did something wrong as well. His birthdays were never pleasant, after all. Some or the other disaster always had to happen or the universe wouldn't go on peacefully.

With his eyes still half-closed, he tripped on the last step and almost kissed the floor, successfully jumping out of his sleepy trance. He rushed into the kitchen and faced a fuming Jeongguk and a wailing Dohyeon, who was sitting on the counter.

But that was not all.

Under the spot where Dohyeon was sitting on the counter with his tiny legs dangling from the top, were drawers opened, resembling steps of some sort.

What was shocking was the spatula on the floor, right under Dohyeon, as if he dropped it.

"Wh-What happe-"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT HAPPENED?!" Jeongguk yelled, making him flinch and take an involuntary step back. "Taetae," Dohyeon called out in between his wails and Taehyung stood torn, not knowing who to reply to first. His seething husband or his bawling son.

"Bu-" he started, but Jeongguk cut him off again without even giving him a second to take a breath.

"How many times have I told you to turn the gas supply off before going to sleep?! Wasn't one incident of Hyeonie playing with fire enough for you to keep it turned off overnight?! Do I have to wake up and find him playing with the gas stove early in the morning at this age?! Why can't you be a little more responsible and do your job right?! What would you have done if he got burnt or somethi-"

"Well, you could have taken him away from the counter instead of just yelling at me!!" Taehyung exclaimed, talking back to Jeongguk for the first time since they got married.

He didn't mind his first wedding anniversary getting ruined a fortnight ago because of another crazy stunt that Dohyeon had pulled, but he wasn't about to let his husband ruin his birthday for the second time in a row.

"I-"

"No, I appreciate your concern for him, but you could have done something too!! You are a CEO, but so am I!! I do the same work you do and still take care of him and the house!! So technically, I work more than you!! You can do things to help me too instead of behaving like the few stuck up dads that I've seen in movies!! You can check if I remembered to turn the gas supply off every night instead of just yelling your head off at me right after I wake up on my birthday!!"
