It was a pleasant Saturday evening and Jeongguk was having a really hard time trying to control his smile. How could he not smile when his husband was sobbing rivers next to him just because a man had to kill his lover in a movie?
He didn't cry. He didn't find it worth crying for. Okay, the man killed his lover, but so what? It wasn't like he had done it on purpose. Things just turned out that way and now, there was a decent pile of tissues on the floor in front of the couch because of that.
"It...it was his l-lover!!" Taehyung hiccupped for the tenth time already and Jeongguk lost his battle with his lips, finally letting them spring up in a fond grin. "But he was a serial killer, Tae. He had to be put down anyway," he tried to argue, but Taehyung threw him a glare which he just found adorable and totally not intimidating.
"Still, he didn't deserve to die!!"
"And the people who he killed deserved to? Don't you think he deserves punishment for what he did?"
"He does!! But not death!! No one deserves to die!! No one!! No one at all," Taehyung sniffled.
Jeongguk cooed internally and looked down at the gap between the two of them. They had started the movie by sitting at two ends of the couch and Jeongguk was still at his own corner, but Taehyung was now about a foot and a half away from him.
And Jeongguk had not missed a single moment when Taehyung thought he was 'stealthily' moving closer to his husband.
He shook his head at both, his husband's actions and his words, and paused the movie. "Tell me what you want. Let's order food.....and some drinks," his voice turned into a small mumble.
Taehyung brightened up right away, the tears stopping their course down his face as if someone turned the taps off. It had been two weeks since he asked his husband out for drinks and Jeongguk had maintained radio silence on the topic until then.
"Chimaek!!" he exclaimed excitedly. Jeongguk didn't meet his eyes but nodded.
(Chimaek = Fried chicken + maekju (beer) )
Deciding not to waste time, Taehyung grabbed his phone and scooted closer to Jeongguk, pursing his lips tightly close when his shoulder brushed with his husband's shoulder, furthermore when he heard him sigh and then wrap an arm around him in extreme awkwardness.
The chicken and beer arrived by the time they finished the movie, and Taehyung opened the chicken boxes excitedly after Jeongguk brought them in after paying for them, seeing as Taehyung's wallet was up in their bedroom and Taehyung was lazy to walk up the stairs to get it.
"Aish, stop with that long face, hyung, I'm not going to eat you when you are drunk," he said when he found Jeongguk sitting on the edge of the couch with both of his hands interlinked tightly. He missed the drops of cold sweat that ran down the sides of Jeongguk's temples.
"T-Taehyung, remember what I said the other day, right? No matter what I say, please don't take it seriously. I don't mea-"
"Hyung, relax. There's literally nothing you can tell about me that can hurt me or something. Just chill and relax and enjoy your first ever drinks with me, okay?" Taehyung said and searched for another movie, this time for a romantic one with a happy ending.
He settled back on the couch, with his back cuddled against Jeongguk's chest, and held a box of fried chicken in his hands.
The two of them spent the first half of the movie silently, watching it and eating the chicken. Or so Taehyung thought. He got so engrossed in the movie that he didn't even notice that Jeongguk wasn't eating anymore until the last piece of chicken disappeared and he looked around for more.
