When she saw Jennie's pale expression, she realized that she had. probably just sufered a serious blow.
Despite being the true Mrs Manoban by. definition, she was still denied any form of genuine affection.
Moreover, as long as she was absent from Lisa's heart, Nancy stood a chance.
When she thought of this, Nancy became extremely delighted.
However, she still needed to act calm and composed.
She pretended to be close to Jennie by holding her arm as the. seemingly harmless smile on her face simultaneously grew wider.
She placed her pale little hand on Jennie's shoulder while. her tone was filled with politeness - she was almost acting as if she was mistress instead.
"You should hurry up and go in since you're already here. The. autumn breeze outside is terribly cold, it looks like your little. hands are already freezing!"
Jennie heard this and felt a little awkward, almost as if she had been caught peeping.
If she left now, the people inside would realize that she had come over.
Jennie gently removed her arm away from Nancy's grip before she quietly replied, "l've just arrived and haven't had the time to go inside yet."
She then calmed herself down before stepping forward to enter the side hall without any further dilly-dallying.
When Nancy noticed that Jennie was intentionally distancing herself, she calmly pulled back her own arm and followed her closely from behind.
When Nancy saw Lisa sitting beside his grandmother in a graceful and elegant manner, she did not have to verbally express her happiness. She simply rushed over and murmured, "Brother Lisa, I haven't seen you for so long.
Jennie turned her face away because she had no intention of watching Nancy behave flirtatiously with her partner.
The moment she sawher, Jennie unconsciously thought of Somi.
However, Lisa's gaze and attention were focused solely on Jennie before his tightly pursed thin lips quietly grunted half-heartedly in agreement.
When their gazes met, he saw that Jennie's eyes were filled with coldness. From Jennie's perspective, his gaze was just something that was filled with lust and was devoid of any traces of real love.
As her irritation was apparent, it became even more obvious when she tried to conceal it.
Lisa saw that not only was Jennie's complexion terrible, but she looked even more tired than usual as well. Why had she hastily pursued him to Upper Mansion?
The landmines here had not been cleared yet, so why was this stupid woman charging headfirst into them?
He felt anger toward Jennie and simultaneously desired to return home to teach Ah Fu a lesson for being incapable.
Nancy became slightly disappointed when Lisa did not respond to her enthusiasm. Her little face was dyed a shade of crimson.
She approached the old woman and pouted as if she had been greatly inconvenienced.
Old Mistress held her breath and shot a glance at Jennie.
Old Mistress Manoban would not have been so angry if Jennie had not arrived. Now that she had seen her, her heart became ridden with more anxiety.
No matter how one looked at it, Lisa was her grandson whom she had single-handedly raised. Even if she was filled with rage, Old Mistress would be reluctant to direct it at Lisa.
However, Jennie was different.
From her perspective, this daughter-in-law was an outsider. Lisa was right when he claimed that Jennie was dependent on the kindness of others since the Kim Family was now ruined.
Old Mistress felt that Lisa had refused to get a divorce two years ago solely because he pitied this woman.
Nevertheless, when Jennie saw old Mistress looking at her, she quietly greeted her grandmother.
Old Mistress lowered her eyes without acknowledging Jennie. She reached her hand out and pulled Nancy over before she turned to Lisa and said, "In a few days time, Nancy wants to go
to Wintry Lake to sketch. Since you've been slaving away in the office day and night, you should likewise take this opportunity to relax with Nancy and others at the Manoban Family's mansion."The Manoban Family had a mansion called Liu Li Villa that spanned a thousand hectors located Wintry Lake. Since Lisa liked to take care of the garden there, Liu Li Villa was named after him.
Old Mistress would also usually spend her summers vacationing there.
However, no one else was brave enough to enter as they pleased.
Now Old Mistress want Nancy to stay at Liu Li Villa for several days?
Although they were both dependents, it looked like Jennie's position was very different from Miss Nancy's, despite the. latter being an outsider.
