Kai smiled bitterly seeing Lisa's attitude.

Kai knew in his heart that Lisa already had Jennie wrapped around his little finger. To him, even if other people coveted her, they were merely just dreaming.

"Yes, I was dreaming! Those days are over and I've missed my best chance. I wasn't aware that it was the feeling of love when I first met her..."

"When you appointed me to be her lawyer, I kept numbing myself and told myself numerous times in my heart that she was your wife, and these were your household affairs. I had no right to be
concerned whether she was having a good life or not!"

Kai's hands trembled as he spoke. He covered his face and rubbed it several times as if he wanted to get rid of the stifling feeling at the bottom of his heart.

The side of his handsome face looked rather twisted. The wild beast that he had strictly controlled in the deepest part of his innermost being for several years had finally shaken off its shackles and started to recklessly charge and bite.

This pained Kai greatly. His tone grew louder and his manner became more imposing because he felt that he should not be cowardly anymore.

"I've never been as ruthless as you. You're willing to resort to unscrupulous means for your goals! I could never do that and I couldn't bear to see her suffer. Before the counter-evidence was found, l'd even thought of using the Kim Family's influence bribe my connections to save her!"

For a person who knew the laws to actually think of doing something that was unlawful, Kai had actu ally strayed from the path at that time. He was a man who harbored unrequited love.

However, the sympathy and love in his eyes could not be fabricated.

After enduring it for so long, he did not want to conceal anything else. He said, "Lalisa, this is the first time l've loved a woman so much! However, she's a woman whom I shouldn't love. If God allowed me to meet her earlier, she wouldn't necessarily be Mrs Manoban!"

Lisa quietened his breathing before he snorted from his nose.

She would still be Mrs Manoban even if he met her a few years earlier.

This would last throughout her entire lifetime!

Kai knew that it was impossible for Lisa to change because of a few things that he had said because his arrogance was innate. He suddenly backed down slightly and said in a low voice.

"Lalisa, I know I can't have her but I hope that you'll treat Jennie better."

When he heard Kai's emotional confession, Lisa's apathetic eyes narrowed.

He picked up the wine glass on the table and downed half of the red wine. Lisa's cheeks turned slightly red, his arrogant posture was extremely constrained when he quietly said, "How would other people know whether I treated her properly or not?"

When Kai heard this, the man who had initially calmed down suddenly jumped up on the sofa. His veins bulged and his eyes turned red. He nearly roared out his next words.

"You said you treated her well. When her blood sample that was taken during the premarital checkup at your Third Uncle's hospital was lost that year, why did you freaking wait for two years before bringing out such important evidence?"

"You said that you treated her kindly but you let her suffer so much yet refused to even see her once when she was in prison? I don't know what exactly you were trying to do but you should just say and do it now! Do you know that the biggest problem between the two of you is your lack of trust?!"

Even during this moment, he could not stand seeing Lisa acting so arrogantly.

Lisa got up from the sofa furiously and violently grabbed Kai by his collar. His eyes were bloodshot as he angrily said, "What do you mean we lack trust? She's my wife and I know her best, so what right do you have to criticize me here?"

"Why did she look for you when she needed a job?"

Kai stared at Lisa and noticed that his hands were faintly twitching, indicating that he was extremely impatient. Kai wondered to himself and thought, 'Are you thinking of laying your freaking hands on me?'

Lisa tightened his grip. Was the brother whom he had gained in exchange for his life going to vigorously beat him up?

When Lisa heard him say that the thing they lacked the most was trust, he could not restrain himself any longer. It was certainly rare for a consistently calm person like himself to pull someone else's collar in such a rough manner.
