Yeosang was deaf so when he went swimming, he would never realize someone would be calling out to him.
Yeosang and his friends would go to the beach alot and they were there again for the summer holidays. Yeosang sat on sand while his friends played in the water.
"Sang! Come join us"! Jongho called. Yeosang looked over and smiled before taking his hearing aid out and running over.
"Here he comes". Yeosang jumped into the water and smiled as he looked at his friends.
"You took it out I'm assuming"? Hongjoong spoke, as he pointed his ear.
"It can't get wet", Yeosang spoke. The others nodded. Yeosang then heard something, which was shocking to him. He looked around, his friends trying to get his attention but Yeosang then swam off.
"Sang"! Jongho called as Yeosang swam off, following the sound. He didn't think he would hear anything unless he was imagining. He made it to some rocks in the water and was careful as he swam around them before seeing a young boy. He looked a bit older than Yeosang but what shocked the boy was Yeosang could see blue scales on his lower half, his ears shaped different and a set of gills on his neck.
The boy looked around before he saw Yeosang and froze. Yeosang didn't know what to do. He was what Yeosang could hear somehow. The boy went to dive under the water before Yeosang stopped him.
"Wait! P-please"? The boy looked at him and winced at his tone.
"Your loud"... He muttered.
"Sorry... I'm deaf and I took out my hearing aid. But... I could hear you. I can hear you. You have a beautiful voice".
"Y-your deaf"? Yeosang nodded.
"But you can hear me"? Yeosang nodded again.
"That shouldn't be possible. My voice should only be heard by people that can hear. Not by someone's who's deaf. That makes no sense".
"What are you"? Yeosang asked, swimming closer.
"I'm a siren". The boy froze.
"L-like the ones that can sink ships and get people into a daze"? The siren nodded.
"Yep. But I'm guessing my singing won't affect you. I'm Seonghwa".
"Yeosang". Yeosang sat on the rocks next to Seonghwa.
"My family is gonna kill me", Seonghwa spoke.
"Wait why"?
"Because we aren't meant to interact with humans. Beside through our singing" Yeosang smiled.
"Well, they can deal with it cause you can't affect me. And your voice is really amazing. That's why I came over. I heard you and got curious". Seonghwa smiled as he looked at him.
"I really had no affect on you"?
"None. C-can you sing again"? Seonghwa nodded and began to sing again. It really had no affect to Yeosang but he was happy to at least be able to hear something. Seonghwa's voice was soft and was beautiful to hear. Yeosang smiled as he closed his eyes, listening to Seonghwa's voice.
"Very beautiful", Yeosang spoke. Seonghwa stopped and looked at him.
"Thank you. D-do you sing"?
"I used to... I got into a fatal car crash and lost my hearing from an head injury in the crash. Since the crash I... I use my hearing aids and stopped singing".
"Oh I'm sorry I asked. M-may I hear you sing at least"? Yeosang looked over and nodded as he smiled softly before he began to sing softly. He couldn't hear himself so he was a bit scared. Seonghwa smiled.
"You got a really good voice".
"T-thanks... Only, I can't hear myself. I took my hearing aid out so I could swim".
"I may be able to help". Seonghwa slipped into the water and held a hand out to Yeosang.
"W-where are you taking me"? Yeosang asked, taking his hand and slipped in after him.
"I'm taking you somewhere that could help you".
"But I can't breath underwater". Seonghwa smiled.
"Go under. Just trust me". Yeosang swallowed but did what Seonghwa said. He went under, holding his breath before Seonghwa went under. His hands glowed slightly and a small bubble appeared around Yeosang's head.
"Air bubble. You can breath underwater with it". Yeosang looked at him and breathed slowly.
"T-that's cool"!
"It is. Come on. I'll try and see if I have something that can help".
