She widened her eyes at me and completely froze.

I ran towards Jack and started pushing him away from Ava's sight. She always freezes when she's scared, do I wasn't going to tell her to go somewhere.

"What the hell!" Jack tried looking at her again, but then turned his attention to me. "Wh- what is she doing here? I thought she was dead!"

Think fast.

"That's not Ava, Jack. You probably freaked her out."

He gave me the most confused look I've ever seen in my entire life. "But that looked exactly like her. Who is it then?"

"I don't know, I just stopped her and told her that she looked like my friend."

"That's some scary shit. Wait, are you like positive that it wasn't her?"

I nodded, acting annoyed. "Yes, Jack."

"Okay.. Um, are you ready, or should I wait outside?"

"I just want to try something on. I'll be out there in a second." I looked at the ground.

He touched my shoulder. "Are you okay?"

I looked up and nodded. "Yeah I'm fine."

"Okay.. I'll be out there." He walked away with his hands in his pockets. When he was out of sight, I ran back to the dressing rooms. Ava was gone.

I scratched at the fabric on my pajama pants under the hotel blankets. I sighed and looked at the clock which beamed little red lights. 2:45AM. I'm not even close to tired. Not after today.

"Can you sleep?" Jack whispered in my ear, nearly scaring me to death.

"No." I whispered back.

"Me either." I heard Jack J say from across the room. I giggled.

"Count sheep." I whispered to them.

"1...2...3...4...5.." Jack began.

"Not out loud, stupid!" I hit him with a pillow and heard his laugh. I could hear Jack J silently laugh as well.

In what seemed like no time, they fell asleep. I did eventually, too.

We left London a couple days later. The concert at Wembley was spectacular, and for 2 hours, I actually forgot about Ava- which is hard.

I had no way to contact her, yet somehow we keep running into each other. It's a spine-rattling fear that something bad is going to happen to her, but also being kind of mad and frustrated that she can't let me help her. I wanted to do something. Surprisingly, I managed to keep my attention towards Jack.

"Here." Jack handed me a harness to put on. I grabbed it and wrapped it around myself, trying hard to figure out all the buckles.

"Got it?" A tall guy with a red and blue shirt that said "LA RockClimbing" right in the middle of it, said.

"Yeah, yeah I'm good!" I buckled the last buckle.

"I hate to ask, really, but are you Paige Holland?" He looked at me. I could see Jack rolling his eyes.

"Yeah, I am." I nervously laughed.

"My little sister absolutely loves you. You're her role model."

"Aw, really?" I asked. "How old is she?"

"13." He replied. "She's got posters of you!" He laughed.

"That's really sweet." I smiled.

"Okay, can we start?" Jack asked, annoyed. The guy probably couldn't tell that he was annoyed, but I sure could. I spend too much time with him to not know all of his emotions and facial expressions by heart.

"Of course!" He grabbed out ropes and threw them to the top of the fake 'mountain', where someone hooked them up.

"Thanks." I said.

"No problem, enjoy!" He walked away.

"Wanna race?" Jack looked at me.

"Every time you ask me that I feel like you're being sarcastic." I laughed.

"I'm not! Seriously! I have faith that you could beat me. I've never even been rockclimbing!"

I looked up at all the little colorful rocks. I used to do this with my dad like everyday in Omaha, so I guess that maybe I could beat him.

Without saying go, I raced up the wall. Jack struggled behind me, causing me to laugh.

"Come on Paige! This isn't fair!" He said, still all the way at the bottom. "What the hell! You're like a spider!" He yelled.

Just then, my foot slipped on one of the rocks and I almost fell. I caught myself and quickly continued, now all the way in my competitive zone.

"I give up." He said.

Eventually I reached the top. I waited about 3 minutes for Jack to reach the top as well. I gave him a high five as soon as I could reach his hand.

"Nice." I smiled.

He shook his head, almost out of breath. "You're good."

I laughed once more, noticing that the worker was staring at me. Creepy.
