I stood in the corner of the room, avoiding Jacob as much as possible. He wasn't even that intimidating anyways. He actually seemed pretty funny and cool to be around, but I'll never disregard advice that was given to me by Jack J. I'll keep my distance.

Jack was across the room, talking to Mack and some other boys that I didn't really recognize. He hasn't even talked to me. I can't help but feel like he's distancing himself from me for some reason. It makes me feel horrible, and I keep thinking about asking him about it but I never do.

"He's so cute." Sierra pointed at Jacob.

"Aren't you dating Mack?" I asked. She backed up, acting offended.

"N-O!" She did a gagging motion. "I was here with Julia and Maya, they left. I'm thankful that you got here, I almost died of boredom."

I shrugged. "Oh, okay."

By this time, there had to be at least around 70 people here. I've greeted some, talked to some, introduced myself to some, and ignored some. Ultimately it just feels like I'm back in highschool, back to ignoring Jack and his "group."

I took a sip of whatever I was drinking and looked up, noticing Jacob starting at me. As soon as he began approaching me, I cringed.

"Hey!" He smiled. "I'm Jacob."

My stomach turned. I didn't even want to reply.

"Hi, I'm Paige." I grinned, taking another sip.

"Aren't you dating Jack or something?" He asked.

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Nice. See ya around." He walked back over to his friends, taking about something different. I felt confused. He seemed totally chill to me.. Maybe he's changed since the last time Jack J saw him.

A couple hours later, I decided it was a good time to go home. I've talked to about everyone, played a few games, and danced. I don't know why, but I felt drained. And jealous- Jack kept talking to a few of his old friends that are girls.

"I think I'm gonna go." I said into Sierra's ear.

"Why?" She looked at me. "You sure?"

"I'm just tired. Yeah, I'm sure." I nodded.

"Okay, text me. It was so good to see you again." She have me a big hug.

"I will. Thanks." I smiled and began walking out. Just then, I spotted a way-too-drunk Jack hanging out on the couch. He had his arm around another girl, and I wasn't surprised. My heart dropped into my stomach and I felt like crying for a day or two. This trip obviously wasn't a good idea.

I was just about to continue my way out, when something happened. Something horrible.

It felt like a punch in the stomach. Jack pressed his lips against her bright red lips with a smile. A lump formed in my throat, and my eyes watered up.

I guess it's easy to break someone's heart, huh?
