Nash walked out of his room and into the kitchen to answer the door. First, he checked the peephole.
"Uh." He backed away and looked at all of us, who were now waiting for him to open the door.
"What?" I asked.
"It's Julia." He looked at Jack J.
"Can you guys go somewhere? I want to talk to her. You can stay if you want Paige."
I nodded, feeling good that he said I could stay. The rest of the guys headed upstairs and almost immediately started yelling and talking like they always do.
She knocked again, and Jack J answered.
"Hi." She smiled.
"Hey." He stood at the doorway.
"Is it alright if I come in?"
I knew where this was headed. She walked inside.
"Hi Paige!" She hugged me. I almost didn't want to hug her back, but I did.
"Hi." I smiled.
She went into the living room and sat on the couch with Jack J. I pretended to look for food in the kitchen cabinets, which wasn't much use either. Nash always had the most random things in these drawers. I opened one drawer on the bottom and found a teddy bear with his head covered in... toothpaste? Ew. I don't even know what that is.
"So I think you know where I'm going with this?" Julia asked.
"Hold on, before you say anything, can I tell you something?" Jack J spoke. I opened the cupboards under the sink and pretended to be looking for something.
"Oh, yeah, go ahead." She said.
"I'm breaking up with you." Jack said. I nearly started crying because of how hard I was trying not to laugh.
"Well, that's what I was going to-" She started.
"Shhh." I heard Jack. "It's okay. Don't take it personally."
"But Jack, I was going to say the same-"
"Julia. It's alright. You should leave." I stood up and looked at them. Jack stood up and walked to the door, opening it for her to leave.
"Have a nice night!" He smiled.
She gave him a dirty look before storming away. She also gave me a scowl because she saw that I was grinning ear to ear, waving goodbye. Jack closed the door after we couldn't hear the clop of her heeled boots down the hallway anymore.
"Oh my god!" I bursted out laughing. So did he.
"That was the best breakup I've ever seen!" I giggled and pulled him in for a hug, then we high-fived eachother.
"I'm not about to let a girl dump me. Dumped her first." He shrugged.
"You're all good? Don't care?" I asked.
"I'm fine. She wasn't too special anyways."
"Well one thing's for sure, she's going to regret that big time. Especially when she starts seeing you and Jack on TV and hearing you guys on the radio. I feel bad."
"Ahh." He smiled and gave me another highfive, laughing.
All the guys came running down the stairs when they saw that it was just me and Jack J.
"What happened bro?" Jack jumped down 3 steps and walked over to us.
"I dumped her." He shrugged.
"Really?"
"Yeah, it's all good. No worries. Seriously."
"Well damn, good for you!" Sammy highfived him. Hopefully it would never be like this if me and Jack were to ever break up, because we were all making it seem like a huge joke. I did feel bad for Julia, but I was even happier for Jack.
/////
I woke up the next morning on top of Nash's giant teddy bear. For some reason, I'm always the first one awake. All the guys were sound asleep all around me.
I checked my phone. 10:47am. We need to be at the arena pretty soon for setup, so I got up and went into the bathroom. I don't know why we always crash at Nash's. The Jack's and I act like we don't have our own place. I always stay at their house, and I partially pay rent even though Jack said I didn't have to.
I took out my toothbrush from my bag and began brushing my teeth. When I was done, I quickly brushed my hair and put it up into a messy bun. I was wearing a blue Victoria's Secret sweat outfit for pajamas, so I just put pants on and called it good. I did a little makeup since I'd be around people all day.
Still, the guys weren't awake.
I got an idea.
As fast as I could, I went to YouTube on my phone. I typed in "Fire Alarm Sound." When I found a good one, I plugged my phone into the speaker in Nash's room where they were all sleeping. Silently laughing to myself, I turned the volume to full blast before pressing play. When it began, it was a horrid screeching noise.
"FIRE!" I screamed. "FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!" I started running around and screaming. The first one to jump up and panic was Nash, and then the rest followed.
"WHAT!? WHATS HAPPENING?" Nash yelled.
Laughing at his reaction, I turned the sound off.
"Seriously?" Jack laughed.
"So are you guys going to get up sometime today?" I laughed.
They all chuckled despite their rude awakening.
In about an hour, they were all ready. I wish it only took me 10 minutes to shower like it did for them.
"Okay, there's an Uber outside. You guys ready?" Nash asked. We all agreed.
We settled into the car and began on our way to the small arena. I think one of the reasons me and Jack are so close is because we're rarely ever seperated. We live in the same city and we have the same hometown. My job and his job both have a ton of freedom.
I was looking out the window at the streets of LA when my stomach started to hurt. Bad.
"Ehh." I quietly groaned to myself and held my stomach.
"You alright?" Jack asked.
"My stomach just hurts really bad for some reason."
"Are you hungry?" He asked.
I felt like every time I blinked it got worse.
"It's like nausea." I leaned to an awkward position, hoping for relief.
"We can stop if you need to." Jack rubbed my shoulder.
"No I'm fine. I'll be okay."
