I lay awake later that night, tossing and turning in the bed. The bright light on my nightstand shined in my face. 3:24AM. I've been thinking. And thinking. And thinking. This is eating me up inside. Honestly, who knows when I'll see Ava again? I can't wait this long for answers. I can't sit here and lose sleep, feeling like I'm next to a criminal. I love Jack and I probably always will, but I need to know if what Ava told me was the truth. It could either ruin our relationship or make it stronger- it could also distance us. Whatever the case was, I have to ask. Now.

"Jack." I whispered.

"What?" He replied. Chills ran across my arms. Why is he awake?

"Uh- I.. I need to talk to you. Ask you something."

I sat up and turned the light on the nightstand on. I looked over at him as he rubbed his eyes as if I was shining a flashlight in his face.

"Why are you awake?" I choked on my words.

"Why are you awake, Mrs. Holland?" His raspy voice vibrated in my ears. He gave me a sleepy grin.

"Because I've been thinking about something. I don't know what's really happening. It's eating me up."

"What is it?" He asked.

"Ava." I blurted. He gave me the same old confused look. I've seen it enough to know that it really is genuine.

"Okay, what about her?"

"She's alive." I dug my nails into the sheets.

He hesitated. "Um, I- I don't get it? I was at her funeral." He shook his head.

"I've talked to her Jack. I've been talking to her. She's hiding from someone. Hiding from Nash.. from you.. from Cam.. That's what she tells me. I randomly see her places and she can never talk for long because she's constantly on the run and I never know what to say." I widened my eyes. I can't believe the words just came out of my mouth.

"Uh, Okay. I honestly don't know what to say. You're scaring me."

"Don't treat me like a nut case!" I defended. "I'm not telling you a cool dream I had last night or something. I'm telling you about the truth."

"Why would she be running from me?" He questioned.

"I don't know. I really don't. That's what she said yesterday. I was driving off from Nash's house and she appeared in the back seat of my car. Actually, she was like hiding there or something. Anyways she told me about the police in Omaha and how that she wasn't actually dead when she was in the casket. There's so much to explain and it's too hard to do without her here."

"Can you do me a favor?" He said. I felt like this was a little random.
