A while after I gave my parents and grandparents their presents and ate dinner with them, I sat downstairs. It was now 10pm and I think things were finally winding down.

I texted Jack.

P: plan on coming over in like 20 min

J: ok :)

I set my phone down and picked up the paper. I hummed the song in my head. It's not like I had any sort of musical instrument, so this would have to be acapella. I didn't mind too much, because I added a lot of runs and other cool things.

These lyrics would be a secret between me and him. This is the first sing I've ever written and I wouldn't want to share it with anyone except for Jack.

About a half an hour later, all sounds upstairs have stopped. I heard the back door open.

"Hey." Jack smiled, walking into my room. He sat on the floor with me. "What's that?" He looked at the paper.

"Okay, so you know at the Omaha show when everyone was saying how good of a singer I was?"

"Yeah. You are."

I smiled. "Well I decided to write a song. You know.. For you."

"Did you really?"

I nodded. "And it's short. It's acapella. I don't know how to play any instruments."

Jack's POV:

I grinned, probably too big. This is the sweetest thing she's ever done for me. She's one hell of a singer, so acapella wouldn't even be a struggle honestly.

"Well.. sing it." I sat closer to her.

She sighed. "Okay. Don't make fun of me."

I laughed. As if I'd ever make fun of her for this.

"Two, that's what makes things better, that's what makes it something new."

She began. I can't put her voice into words to describe it. It's so damn beautiful. If she wanted a singing career, she could get one in a heartbeat.

"Forever is a promise, it's something that won't be broken. I'll never forget the words that were softly spoken."

It was like a spectacular poem made into some amazing song. And it was for me.

"I'm full of firsts, and you're always there to feel them with me. I've never found someone who makes figuring feelings out so tricky."

I can't believe she wrote this.

"Kiss me, like it's the first time. Love me, like it's the last time. I'll never run out of feelings and I'll never stop.. Loving you."

That was the chorus.

"Okay... So.. Um. I didn't exactly write the rest. I just wanted to give you something small.. I know it's not the best. I mean- I did my best. Did you like it? Did-"

I interrupted her with a kiss. I pulled her in close until I felt her arms wrap around me.

"Paige." I shook my head. "I've never heard something better."

  Paige's POV:

My heart was still racing.

"No like I'm being serious. I want you to sing that to me all the time." He said.

I laughed. "It wasn't that great."

"Yes it was!" He defended. "I'll never get enough of you." He shook his head and hugged me again. "Thank you."
