Peter’s P.O.V

“Pia, I don’t think that is a good idea.” I said to her.

“C’mon Pete, help meeee. Pleeease??”

Napakamot ako sa ulo. Baka mayari ako kay Paul nito. '-'  We’re talking about Aina here. Ito kasing si Pia, gusto niyang ipagbati si Aina at si Gizhelle. I have no idea what’s gotten into that brain of hers kaya bigla niya iyon naisip. Tinitigan ko siya, then I winced when she  did  that face. No no no no no. She’s doing the puppy eyes. Oh ghod.

“I don’t know, Pia... we shouldn’t be sticking our noses on their own problem.” Muli kong tinignan yung librong binabasa ko. Nandito kami sa classroom ngayon, and it’s currently Cooperative Learning period kaya walang teacher ngayon. At kaya nagkaroon ng oras si Pia para guluhin ako.

Nagulat ako ng biglang inagaw sa akin ni Pia yung libro na binabasa ko. NOO! Nagrereview ako eh! Aish! May quiz pa bukas! Nevermind. I expected this anyway. Hays! Alam kong mapilit si Pia. And believe me, magaling siyang magpersuade ng tao. Napakahirap niyang tanggihan ngayon, lalong-lalo na’t alam kong minsan lang siya humingi ng favor sa akin.

“C’mon, please Pete, pleaaaassee??” Napapikit ako dahil sa ginawa niya. Peter don’t! Don’t you dare.. Do not fall for it.

“Please Peter. I can’t stand it when my friends are not okay with each other.” I looked at her again. Then she placed her hands together and begged more. “Please please please?  I can’t do it alone.”

I . Must. Reject. Her. Request.  'A'  MUST. IGNORE!  My ghods, she’s so persuasive, I can feel her power working on me. Pero matibay ako. Kaya ko siyang tanggihan kahit medyo nagi-guilty ako dahil marami na siyang naitulong sa akin. I kinda feel like a jerk. I shook my head then I gave her a sorry face.

“No. Peter please! T^T” 

Pumikit ako ulit at huminga ng malalim. Then muli kong binuksan yung mga mata ko and I placed my hand on top of her head like I always do. “So sorry princess.” Napa-pout na lang siya bigla dahil sa sinabi ko. I have other things to think of. I need to make more time para sa Baby ko. Gusto kong maging hands-on kay Bretzie. She needs me right now, or atleast she needs to feel that I’m still always here for her.

Tinitigan lang ako ni Pia, showing her dismay, habang nakapout. Nginitian ko na lang siya at ginulo ang buhok niya. Pasensiya na, Pia. But I have other things to do. “Let’s just leave them be. We can’t just go snooping around their problems, you know. It’s Gizhelle and Aina’s problem.”

Suddenly we heard someone groan. “Uhhh... Who’s problem? What are you two talking about?”

Nagulat kaming dalawa ni Pia ng marinig namin ang boses ni Paul. Pareho kaming lumingon sa kanya at nakita namin siya na mukhang kagigising lamang and mukhang kakatanggal niya lang rin ng earphones sa kanyang tenga. Natutulog kasi yan sa kanyang arm chair habang nakikinig sa mga kanta, at mukha namang hindi niya alam ang pinag-uusapan namin... Phew. That was close. I guess we’re safe.
