Today was my first day of school. I was debating whether I was excited, nervous, or scared. First mom and I had to register me though.

We walked into the school and it smelled weird, it was the memories of being in Kindergarten when I was with my real parents. Those weren't always the best memories.

"We want to register." Mom said to the secretary

"Ok *bla bla bla* fill this out and that" some office lady said

Finally after an hour of this lady telling what to do and everything some person from the guidance came to show me around the school and how to open my locker. I just wanted to go to my class.

We arrived at my locker D81 it was downstairs in this little hallway. My combination was confusing to put in, 5-43-27. After a couple of times practicing that I got the hang of it.

When we were all done with everything the day was halfway through. I went to my class, Math. I walked in and everyone stared at me, it was creepy. The teacher welcomed me and showed me where I could sit. I sat in the last row next to this girl with brown hair and blue eyes. She talked, a lot.

"Hi I'm Juliet. What's your name." She said sweetly

Im Anna." I replied with a shy tone

"Don't be shy, I'm not mean or anything. People just say I talk a lot." Juliet said

Juliet took my schedule and looked at it. "We have like all the same classes!" She said being proud.

"Cool."

Juliet was one of those "popular ,cool girls" but she didn't seem like it. She was very nice and sweet.

After class Juliet and I went to lunch.

"We sit here. Not there..." Juliet said because I went to a different table.

At lunch on Fridays we could use our phones. Juliet and I had the sane phone.

"So what made you guys move here?" Juliet asked

"I got adopted..." I said looking at my hands

"Oh." Juliet said "Well... What happened to your real parents?

I didn't respond

"If were going to be friends, your going to have to tell me what happened." Juliet admitted

"I'll tell you after school."

After lunch we had three more classes, Art, Gym, and Social Studies.

We went to art, then to gym, and now were at the end of Social Studies.

"So you going to tell me?" Juliet asked

"You promise not to tell anyone?!"

"I swear I will not tell a soul."

"Not even my adopted parents know!"

"I promise!" She started getting frustrated

"Ok, when I was three my parents got divorced and my mom remarried. My step dad and my mom didn't take care of me. They didn't feed me, they didn't bathe me, and I wasn't able to go outside. They forced me to clean everything. When I was four my dad started drinking, which lead to abuse. My mom followed along. They drank together and did drugs together. But my real dad is out there somewhere, I just don't know where. CPS came and found me at kindergarten and asked me questions. They figured everything out and they arrested my mom and her husband." I said while making pauses to hold in tears

"Wow, that must've been really hard. She said

"It still is." I admitted
