Chapter Sixteen

Venus’s P.O.V
After some time had gone by, I was helping Emily as the both of us had a few laughs as the boys had fooled around a bit before I had noticed Bella walk back into the house with Jake not long after Emily and I had finished doing some dishes and I walked up to Bella and stood next to her, “we should probably head out now” she said and I nodded, “Alright” and the both of us said our goodbyes before heading to the truck and getting in and leaving, “so what did you and Jacob talk about?” I asked her wondering, “about what he was mostly amongst other things” she said and I thought about Laurent, “did they catch up to Laurent at all?” I asked her and she nodded, “yeah they did and they were able to kill him apparently” she said and I nodded, “good. Are you and Jacob alright at least?” I asked her wondering, “I think so” she said as we made it back to my place, “see you later” I said with a smile as I waved and she did the same, “see you later Venus” she said before she drove away and I walked inside, “hey sweetie, how was your day?” my mom asked, “it was good. Met some more people that live on the Rez near La Push Beach when I hung out with Bella earlier today” I told her and she smiled, “that’s good dear. I’m glad you were able to make some friends in the year that we lived here” she said to me and I smiled, “me to mom. Me to” I said as I hung out with her for the rest of the night and watched a few movies together after eating dinner and getting changed for the night.    

It was another week of school had gone by and Jacob had recently told me that the others were wondering if I was coming back to the Rez any time soon and I told him to tell them that I would be there on Saturday if they wanted and when that day came, my mother had dropped me off and I soon walked into Emily’s house to see the boy’s sitting at the Table and they had all noticed me and had gotten up from their seats and smothered me in hugs, “Jacob said you guys wouldn’t shut up about wondering if I would be coming over or not” I mentioned and they all chuckled a bit, “I guess you could say that. We have been chasing the red head all week” Paul said until Sam came rushing into the house, “Harry had a heart attack. He didn’t make it” he said and I went wide eyed, “how is his family doing?” I asked wondering as I stood next to Emily, “their coping. Charlie and Billy are over there now with them and Jake had gone to take Bella home as well after finding her at the beach” Sam said and the room stayed silent as Sam had soon left the house, “I’m sorry about Harry. I know you guys knew him better than I did so I’m not exactly sure what to say” I said to everyone, “it’s alright Venus. We knew he trusted you, especially with their secret” Emily said before asking about Bella, “what’s going on with Bella, is she alright?” I asked them, “apparently she tried to jump off the cliff earlier and Jacob had gotten her out” Embry said and I sighed a little as I hung out with them for a little while longer before I had left. The car ride was silent at first until my mom and I had gotten home, “is everything alright sweetie? You haven’t said a word” my mom asked and I sighed and told her what I had found out, “a friend of Charlie’ had a heart attack earlier today and he didn’t make it” I told her as we got out of the car and headed inside, “oh dear, poor Charlie now that I think about it, we should see how he’s doing” my mom said, “don’t you think it’s kind of late though?” I asked and she shook her head, “nonsense, the man had just lost his friend we should at least see how he’s doing” my mom said and I nodded and I went with her to Charlie and Bella’s and I thought about how both Bella and Charlie were doing.

By the time we had gotten there, Bella’s truck was in the Driveway and I sighed to myself as my mom and I both got out of the car and went and knocked on the front door for it to reveal Charlie, “hey, Venus had told me about what had happened to your friend and we wanted to our condolences'' my mom said and he smiled a little until I had noticed Jacob in the background, “thank you, it means a lot. Come in” he said and we both walked into the house and both Charlie and my mother talked for a bit as I went over to bella, “where’s Bella? Is she alright” I asked wondering and he sighed, “she went to Italy with one of the Cullens'' he said and I was in complete shock, “did she say why?” I asked him as we whispered, something to do with Edward'' he said and we talked about it some more, “who went with her cause her truck is here?” I asked him, “a girl with short hair like mine almost” he said and I knew he was talking about Alice, “how did Charlie take it?” I asked looking at the man who was still talking with my mom, “not too well. He’s upset about it, all he got from her was a note saying where she was going and that she would be back in a few days” he said and I shook my head, “well I’m guessing it wasn’t exactly for a good reason as to why she had gone to Italy” I said and he nodded, “the girl said said he was going to kill himself” Jake told me, “Jesus, to be honest I probably would have done the same if it were Jasper though” I said thinking about it, “their blood suckers V, they’re dangerous” he said to me, “and you’re not” I said and he didn’t say anything else, “I thought so. I understand you and Vampires don’t have the best of relationships, but that doesn’t mean you get to criticize them and besides, the Cullens are different, they don’t kill Humans. They live off of Animals if you've been paying attention at all” I said, getting a little angry. After some more time had passed, both my mom and I had left and headed home for the night and I had gone up to my room to get changed and that was until I saw him standing in my room.
