Chapter Twenty: Eclipse

Venus’s P.O.V
Finals were coming up and I’ve been spending a lot of time in my room studying for them until I finally had gotten a break from studying for a little bit and as another day of school had come around, it was now lunch time as I sat with Jessica and the others as we discussed Jessica’s Valedictorian speech for Graduation, “Just in time” Mike said and I turned to see Bella and Edward sit down with us, “alright, check it out. All right, let’s see what we got. ‘My fellow students’ right” Mike began to say and I laughed, “oh god this is going to be horrible” I said and we chuckled a bit before he continued, “right? ‘We are the future. Anything is possible, if you just believe’ Blah, Blah, Blah and you got yourself a speech” Mike finished as he threw the paper towards Jessica, “no this will be my speech when I want everyone to throw diploma’s at my head. So, thank you” Jessica said as she crumpled the paper and threw it at Mike, “and I told you so” I said leaning back into my chair with a smile on my face, “you gotta embrace the cliches, Jess.” Mike told her, “they are the bread and Butter of all Valedictorians” Eric spoke and I chuckled a bit, “and that is why you’re not Valedictorian” Angela said, “she’s not wrong” I mentioned as I took a drink of water, “Jess doesn’t need cliches. The speech is going to be epic.” Bella mentioned, “epic? It’ll change lives'' she said, “it might'' I said until Jasper sat down next to me with Alice and Marcus and I smile as he kissed my cheek, “I’ve decided to throw a party” Alice said and I almost choked on my water as I turned to face her, “what?” I asked, “After all, how many times are we going to graduate High School?” Jasper said, “very funny” I said to him directly, “a party? At your place?” Angela asked, “I’ve never seen your house” Jessica mentioned, “no one’s ever seen their house” Eric told Jessica, “another party Alice?” Edward asked, “are you sure?” I asked, remembering what happened the last time she decided to throw one, “it’ll be fun” she said to us, “yeah. That’s what you said last time” Bella told her as she leaned back into her chair and the look on her face changed and I figured she was having a vision of a sort and the rest of us just continued to talk for the rest of lunch until the bell rang for our next class.

Later that day after school had ended, Jasper had offered to drive me home since my mom was going to be working late tonight at the Diner and during the entire car ride to my place was quiet as all I did was think and wonder what Alice might had seen during lunch earlier today and by the time we had finally gotten to my place and walked inside after getting out of the car, I had decided to ask him what Alice had seen earlier today, “what did Alice see during lunch today?” I asked him after we had walked into my room and he sighed, “if I told you, you’d want to get involved somehow and I don’t want you to. I want you to stay here where it’s safe” he said and I sighed as I sat down on the bed, “but all I’m gonna do is worry about you” I told him as he knelt down in front of me, “nothing is going to happen to me I promise” he said as I just looked at him in the eye’s before I nodded, “alright, I’ll stay here. It probably wouldn’t have made a difference anyways” I said and we both chuckled before I kissed him and he kissed back, “I love you. Promise me that you’ll be safe?” I said to him and he nodded, “I promise” he said before he stood up and the both of us talked about it for a bit before we decided to do some of our home work and studied a little for our finals until he left for the night. Not long after he left, I heard my mom come home as she walked through the door and I headed downstairs to see how her day was, “hey mom. How was your day?” I asked her and she sighed, “busy” she answered with a sigh and later on I decided to make dinner for the both of us since my mom was a little tired after her shift today as I had let her relax for the rest of the night.

Jasper’s P.O.V
It was now the weekend and when Sunday had come around, we were all getting ready to head over to where Alice had seen Victoria and throughout that time, all I thought about was Venus until I was brought out of my thoughts when Carlisle walked up to me, “are you ready?” he asked me and I nodded, “yeah” I told him, “what’s wrong Jasper?” he asked me and I just shrugged, “nothing, I’ve just been thinking about Venus. That’s all” I told him and he patted my shoulder, “don’t worry, she will be alright and besides, we both know you’ll visit her later anyways” he said and I chuckled a little, “yeah I know” I said before we had gone outside with the others and ran to where Alice had seen Victoria in her Vision. By the time we got there, we all stood there waiting for Victoria, “are you sure this is where you saw her?” Carlisle asked Alice as we all looked around as Marcus walked closer to her, “she’s almost here” she said to us before there was a moment of silence, “on your left” Alice said and we all ran for it and soon Victoria was in our line of sight as we chased after her but before we could have gone any further, Carlisle stopped us as we all saw that she wasn’t on our territory anymore, “wait! She’s in their territory.”he told us before we continued to run after her, “she’ll get away” I heard Esme shout, “no she won’t” I said and I began to run faster as I noticed a couple of Wolves chasing her as well until she had come back to our side and just as I boosted myself off the trees trying to grab Victoria, I soon landed on the ground after failing to do so but I soon got up and continued to run after her, “Emmett no” I heard Esme shout just before he jumped toward they way Victoria had gone until he was pushed back into the water by one of the Wolves.

Later that night, after not being able to catch Victoria, we all headed back to the house and got changed into something different and I just sat in my room for a bit as I thought about what had just happened not realising how much time had gone by and I decided to head over to Venus’s place t see how she was doing and by the time I got there, I saw that her window was opened a little and I soon climbed through to see that she had fallen asleep and I gently placed a kiss on her head before I tried getting into bed next to her without having to wake her up and when I did, she moved closer to me and laid her head on my chest and I smiled a little as I held her close to me, “I love you darlin” I said to her and I noticed a small smile appeared on her lips and we stayed they way we were for the rest of the night
