Chapter Twenty One

Venus’s P.O.V
    It was now the next day and I had woken up next to Jasper and I smiled to myself as I looked up to face him and gently kissed his lips, “good morning darlin” he said to me, “when did you get here?” I asked him as I sat up, “last night. You were already asleep when I got in” he told me and I nodded before getting out of bed and grabbing some clothes to change into before heading into the bathroom to get changed and do everything else, “your mom had left for work earlier so do you want a ride to school today?” he asked me as I walked out of the bathroom and put my dirty clothes into the basket, “sure” I said as I put my things together and the both of us had headed downstairs and I grabbed something to snack on before Jasper headed back to his place to get the car. By the time we had gotten to the school, I had noticed Jacob standing there and I figured that he might be waiting for Bella until I noticed him walking toward both Edward and Bella, “Jake looks pissed” I mentioned as we all stood by the cars, “he is a little bit, they’re talking about what happened the other night as Bella didn’t know about Victoria coming around” Jasper said  and I sighed a little bit, “your brother is stubborn” I said and he just chuckled a bit before we saw Bella get on Jacobs bike and leave before Edward came over to us, “she’ll be fine. I get Victoria is popping up every once and a while but you gotta stop worrying so much otherwise it’s gonna make Bella feel like she’s in the dark all the time” I said to him as we all walked into the school, “I know it’s just, I don’t know” he began to say and I patted his back, “just relax a little alright, she does understand though, I’m sure she does” I said and he just nodded before we all headed for our first class of the day.

Later that day after school was over for the day, I had gotten a text from my mom saying that she would be able to pick me up and I had finished grabbing my things before heading outside to see my mom waiting for me in the car and I texted Jasper saying that I would see him later and that I would leave my window opened a little incase he wanted to stop by for a bit, “hey sweetie, how was your day?” she asked as I got into the car, “it was good, how was your day?” I said as she drove away from the school, “it was fine, not as busy today” she told me and we continued to talk for the rest of the car ride home. By the time we made it to the house, I headed straight for my room and did some school work amongst other things like studying until it was starting to get dark outside and I decided to take a shower after grabbing some Pajamas to change into when I was done. When I had finished and got changed, I walked out as I dried my hair with a towel until I noticed Jasper standing in the middle of the room as he looked around as if something was off, “what’s wrong?” I asked him as I put the towel down before he faced me, “someone’s been in here” he said and I felt myself beginning to panic, “what do you mean someone was in here?” I asked him and he stayed silent until I noticed my sweater was gone, “my sweater is gone. I had it over the chair” I said pointing to the chair at my desk and I began to panic some more, “you’re coming to my place for a bit” he said and I just nodded and I headed down stairs to let my mom know, “hey mom, is it alright if I got to Jasper’s for a bit, Alice wants my help with a few things for the graduation party she’s planning on doing?” I asked her hoping that she would say yes, “yes of course dear, you know I’ve always liked her and Rose to. They seem like very nice people” my mom said and I smiled a bit, “yeah me to anyways, I’ll see you in a bit” I said before heading out the door to see Jasper was already there and we soon left for his place.

By the time we got there, I saw that Bella was there as well as they were all gathered in the living room, “so the same thing happened to Venus as well?” Carlisle asked Jasper and he nodded, “why don’t Marcus and Emmett track the person’s scent to see where they could have gone” Carlisle said and both Emmett and Marcus left the house, “do you know how this person could have gotten into your room Venus?” Esme asked me and I shook my head, “no, I was in the shower when It must have happened at first I thought it might have been my mom but as of now, I don’t think so anymore” I said and they just nodded, “who was it, someone we know?” Carlisle asked, “this stranger, I didn’t recognize his scent” Edward said to him, “neither did I” Jasper mentioned, “A nomad passing through” Esme mentioned, “a passerby wouldn’t have left Venus and Bella’s mother and father alive” Rose said making a point, “the scent disappeared about five miles south after coming from Venus’s place” Marcus said to everyone as both himself and Emmett walked in, “someone’s orchestrating this” Carlisle spoke up “Victoria?” Bella asked, “I would have seen her decide” Alice told her, “has to be the Volturi” Edward mentioned, “I don’t think it’s the volturi either. I’ve been watching Aro’s decisions to” Alice said, “well my bet is Victoria, she’s the only one that wants both Bella and I dead for what happened to James” I mentioned, “so we keep looking” Emmett said, “we’ll aso take shifts guarding Bella and Venus at their houses” Carlisle suggested, “another protection detail?” Rose said as if she didn’t want to do it, “no she’s right. You can’t protect us, watch our parents and search for the Intruder” Bella said to everyone, “And for Victoria” Rose added, “and keep yourselves fed” Bella said after, “I’m not leaving you here defenseless and biether would Jasper with Venus” Edward spoke up, “well I’m not gonna let you starve” Bella said, “yeah, Bella’s right you guys should at least hunt first before you do anything at least” I mentioned before looking at Jasper, “and we wouldn’t be unprotected. We have..” Bella said as she trailed off, “what?” Edward asked and I looked over to him, “who do you think, the both of you despise each other for god sakes?” I said to him as he realized now who Bella was talking about and he tried to reason with Bella about it but gave in anyway.

Later on that night, Jasper had driven me home and I had told him that I would leave the window open for him later if he wanted to come bye at some point before I headed into the house, “hey sweetie, did you have fun?” my mom asked and I nodded, “yeah” I said to her as it looked like she was finishing up with dinner, “well dinner is done now so help yourself” she said as we both grabbed some spaghetti and ate as we talked about Graduation and how the studying was going. For the rest of the night the both of us just hung out for a while until we both decided to head to bed for the night as we were both tired and I just wanted to get some sleep and forget about what had happened tonight. By the time I made it to my room, I opened my window a bit and soon after, Jasper came in, “did you hunt yet?” I asked him and he shook his head, “Jazz, you should have done that before you got here” I said to him as I walked up to him and rested my hand on his cheek, “I know, but I wanted to check on you first” he said and I smiled a bit, “I’ll be fine. I just want to forget what happened earlier to be honest” I said to him and he nodded, “I don’t blame you and I think you’re right about Victoria, but like Alice said, she hadn’t seen her do anything yet” Jasper said to me, “exactly. She could be working with someone, maybe even using them so Alice wouldn’t suspect anything” I said and he sighed as he sat down on the bed and I stood in front of him, “who knows at this point. My main worry is you right now” he said as he looked up at me and I moved a strand of hair away from his eyes and kissed his forehead, “I’ll be alright, now go and hunt. You look hungry” I said and we chuckled, “alright then. If anything happens, call me” he said and I nodded before he jumped out the window and ran off and I closed the window and locked it before taking a glance outside to see nothing out of blue before getting into bed and falling asleep that night.
