A/N: HOOOOO THIS ONE'S LOONG.

If you missed my announcment on the board I'll quickly repeat it in here.

Sorry for the lack of yesterday's chapter, yet this one contained so much detail I needed to put in a little more work into it than I originally expected.

Asides from that I've recieved more fanart from you guys, which I'm eternally thankful for ❤️❤️

This time, the artist asked me to remain anonymous and I respect their wishes.

I love the design of the dress, it's exactly how I envisioned it and I love the arcane-like artstyle ❤️

Thank you again so much, and this chapter is dedicated to you

--------------------

After crossing the bridge, the two of you headed West, where you soon found yourselves in a line to the hydraulic descender.

You remembered when Viktor told you, how as a child he wouldn't ride it often, as people would mock his inability to work, and basically see him as 'an another mouth to feed'. You decided not to ask why he chose to ride it now. It didn't feel appropriate at that moment. Viktor didn't talk much throughout your walk, and you wondered if it was because he was still upset with you, or because he was going down to basically face all of his past struggles.

Before the two of you met up at the courtyard, you decided it was probably for the best to change clothes. You chose one of the few things in your wardrobe, that had an actual hoodie. A loose black, cotton blouse, over which you put a leather vest and your coat.  Layering meant that just maybe, you won't have your liver blown up with a single punch. It probably wouldn't make much of a difference, but at least it made you feel safer. You tied your hair up in a neat, yet flat bun and pinned your forelocks back with hair pins.

You put on your cowl, tucking your white hair into the back of it, trying to allow for as little characteristic white strands to be seen. Viktor glanced at you for a second and then turned his attention towards the 'Rissing Howl', as the locals called it. It had stopped with a loud crash, making you jump a little. You were clearly nervous and you focused every single cell in your brain on steadying your breathing.

,,There's still time to turn back..."

Viktor said almost sympathetically. You turned your face towards the boy and shook your head as a 'no'. You then put on your most believable, neutral face and headed inside the large, metal box. The limping boy followed right behind you, checking out the other passengers.

Only one of them seemed to eye your silhouette curiously, as if wondering if it was augmented to look that way. When he looked towards your partner, Viktor returned his cold stare, acknowledging his interest in you.

The doors closed and the elevator took off sharply, quickly transporting you to the lower levels of the Undercity. You wanted to gasp for air, as the atmosphere got thicker and thicker, whilst the box descended. The smell got much worse too. You kept your head cool, trying to seem as unbothered by this as the other passengers. You glanced towards Viktor when he coughed illy, almost metallically.
