A/N: Okay, fhis chapter might be a wee bit boring, but I tried to make it as enjoyable as possible with many cute moments between Y/N and her mother.

Also I have a very, very important request.

As many of you probably know Attack on Titan is releasing it's last episodes and I cannot stress this enough, but

I need Armin fanfiction recommendations.

I've loved this man since the show had started, but in the final season he is just sooo fuuucking hoooot.

I really have a fucking thing for smart nerds I suppose.

Feel free to leave your recommendations in the comments, as at this point I feel like I went through the entire Armin hashtag and couldn't find anything that would satisfy me.

Anyway,
hope you enjoy the chapter and thank you in advance ❤️

You stared at the pages with shock, unable to comprehend what you had just read. You kept repeating the words in your head, over and over again, as if with time they'd finally click together, calming your restless mind, giving you an anwser that's easier to digest than this bullshit.

It was all his fault. All this time, you've been looking for an error, that existed only because of your asshole father. He pushed you into fixing his legacy, while he was the one who destroyed it in the first place.

,,D-Did you know about this?"

You asked, raising your head up from the book. Your mother woke up abruptly at your voice, her face bouncing away from the backrest. She hastily looked around the room, trying to remember how she found herself in her late husbands office. Her blue eyes first shocked and scared, finally calmed down as she rubbed the sleep away from them, squeezing the bridge of her nose in the process.

,,How can you be sleeping now!! Did you know all this time?!"

Her eyebrows furrowed, leaving you more and more upset with each second she spent without anwsering you.

,,I've had my suspicions. Your father never spoke to me about what happened that day, but I just... I knew. The guilt in his eyes... The shame he looked at himself in the mirror. He didn't need to tell me."

You couldn't believe it. Your mother knew and she didn't tell you either. What the fuck was wrong with this family. You closed the journal and stared aimlessly at it's cover, your mother's words bouncing around your brain like a boomerang.

,,In Ionia one of the first things they teach you is how to read things. How to read their aura, their nature. That's what had kept us with harmony with the Spirit for so many years... Your father..."

,,Shut up..."

You said, your mother's voice cutting short instantly. You didn't look at her, afraid you might either cry or throw up, or maybe even both.

,,You knew what he had done and you still just let him abuse us? You let him beat me when I didn't make progress with Unity, while knowing very well that I'd never be able to find the anwsers on my own! You just watched my suffering from the sidelines..."

,,I tried talking to your father many times about this very case, but he... He never listened. He was both too ashamed and too proud to tell you the truth. He never knew how to act on his emotions. He was never taught compassion or self-other overlap. The background he came from never showed him that, and didn't give him a chance to find that empathy himself either. I... I thought you'd understand."

You scoffed turning your head sideways as you felt tears gathering up in your throat. You didn't know what else to say, your mind racing, trying to meet ends with the information you've had received. You were angry, furious even, and the fact you couldn't materialize that anger onto the wrongdoer made it even worse. You couldn't shout at your father, call him out for all the shit he's been putting you through for all these past years.
