Without FATHER ado,
Enjoy!---------
As time passed, you grew more and more frustrated. It was already starting to get dark and Viktor was nowhere to be found. What could possibly by taking him this long...
You ended up aimlessly staring at the empty lab while twirling on your chair from time to time. You tried to occupy yourself with some paperwork but there wasn't really anything that would pull your attention for longer than 15 minutes.
The room's overwhelmingly present dust has been cleaned spotless and in similar fashion all of your signed mugs have been washed and layed out nicely near the little sink next to the cabinets. They were organised alphabetically and you couldn't help but smile, as you noticed Amity's mug had been cleaned of dust as well, standing proudly near the front of the row.
'Maybe Sky wasn't as bad news as I thought...'
You walked around, checking out some books and journals, browsing through their pages as if you were to find something new inside, but there was nothing. Nothing that would be surprising to you anyway...
And then you heard it. Soft tapping of shoes against tile, followed closely by a more metallic sound of his cane. Your heart sped up making you almost want to jump in excitment. You leaned closer to the wall, hiding yourself from view behind the bookshelf, ready to surprise your partner the moment he'd come into the lab.
The footsteps got louder and soon the air was filled by a crunching sound of a key in the lock. The person struggled with it for a second before realising that the door was already open. The hinges creaked and for just a moment there was silenece.
You expected a 'is anyone there' or at least a shy 'hello?', but Viktor stormed in as quickly as his cane allowed him to. He slammed the door behind him, the thunder of it making your flinch.
You saw him approach the main desk, his back facing you as he leaned over the counter, rubbing the bridge of his nose with his thumb and index finger. Your brows furrowed, as you curiously observed his frustrated shilouette.
He then slammed his cane against the ground, quickly followed by him angrily tumbling a large pile of papers, the pages flying around him like snow. An enraged groan escaped his lips as he slammed his fists against the wooden desktop, breaking out into a very ugly, metallic cough. It sounded as if he was to spit out his lungs, his hand darting to cover his mouth.
This outburst wasn't meant to be seen by you and for the first time since the two inventors had received this lab, you felt in it like an intruder.
,,Viktor?"
You spoke softly, making your presence known in the least invading way possible. Still, Viktor almost stumbled upon his own feet, jumping away at the sound of your voice like a startled animal. You rested your hand on the shelf, praying to Gods in the sky that it'd grant you enough support to keep your knees from visibly jittering.
,,Gods have mercy! Y/N! You almost gave me a heart attack..."
His voice was raspy from the cough and you caught a glimpse of him wiping his palm against his pants. His skin pale and breathing was heavy, but you couldn't tell wether it was because of your surprise, or because of his outbreak. You smiled sheepishly, carefully taking a couple of steps forward while analysing his reaction.
,,Sorry about that... I came back and wanted to surprise you but... It didn't really work out..."
You said while looking around the room. Countless sketches and plans enveloped your friend, who was now slowly making his way over to reach for his cane. You got to it sooner though, passing it to him while closing the distance between you.
