Chapter 50

A/N: Okay, so... I'm way too fucking hyped to be editing this story now.

I keep thinking of further chapters and their storyline as honestly, this might be the happiest part in the entirety of it. I just want to keep writing new chapters.

I will edit out the inconsistency with a brace, as I had changed my mind on the way I want Viktor's to receive it. I'm going to make it more wholesome than simply a time skip.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I had mentioned it but I'm done with my exams!

I went to prom and had been partying through most of the week, so that's my excuse as to why the chapters are slacking lol.

You were woken up by cold stinging in your calf, shivers enveloping your body like a freliordian storm. You pulled your leg closer to your body, hiding it under the comfort of a blanket. Subconsciously, you moved closer to the only source of heat near you, receiving a soft hum from the boy you were half-laying on. The arm around you tightened and it was then, that you slowly opened your eyes.

Viktor was sleeping peacefully, still in the same position as when you had dozed off. His chest was raising and falling just slightly, his rhythmical breaths reflecting in very quiet snores. You felt your heart flutter while looking at him. The dark circles under his eyes had diminished slightly and his face seemed brighter, almost full of colour.

First rays of the Sun shun through his messy hair and reflected on the tiles of the lab, making the shadows on the floor dance slowly. You glimpsed towards the window, catching a view of a dark blue sky. The stars were still faintly seen, but the colourful light at the horizon fought with them for domination, sure to soon overtake the sky with breathtaking shades of pink and blue.

You anxiously listened for a second, but the lack of footsteps and chatting coming from the corridor reasured you. It was still too early for any of your colleagues to be up. Most of them usually would stroll into the labs around 7, the early birds starting at 6, which would mean it should be around 4 or 5 in the morning.

A yawn escaped your lips as you slowly tried to move from under your lovers arm. His grip around you tightened and his breathing hitched for less than a second.

,,Leaving already?"

He asked in a raspy voice, the deep tones highlighting his accent nicely. You smiled and melted into his chest, relishing in the boys smell.

,,Mmm we do have to clean up and perhaps get dressed before Jayce gets here. It's just a thought though..."

You answered playfully, as you felt his hand travel from your shoulder and down to your waist. He gently pulled you up, making you lift yourself on your elbow, allowing you to get a better look at him. Viktor's eyes fluttered open, his hazel irises gleaming with golden reflexes.

,,Sky will get here before him. She usually comes early in order to do some cleaning and prepare the equipment for the day."

,,She takes this job really seriously, doesn't she?"

,,She's dedicated and hardworking, that's why we hired her in the first place."

,,Ahh... I see..."

You said quietly, your gaze involuntarily escaping his. You felt his body tense against yours, his grip tightening as well.

,,Is something wrong?"

,,Of course not..."

You turned your sight back to him, his expression much more concerned than before. You sent him a reassuring smile, but this time, he was the one to avoid it.
