Viktor's gaze followed the bouncing cog, his breath catching in his throat before he could say anything more. He looked up at you, his eyebrows raised so high it looked comical, his protective eyewear making him look like a very surprised bug.

,,W-What is this?"

He asked, tracing a circle with his finger over his chest, about two centimeters above his heart. You looked down and almost gasped, taking a step back and almost stumbling into a small table behind you. A faint blueish light glowed softly from under your shirt, the warm sensation spreading throughout your entire body.

You reached under your collar, pulling out the now luminescent Moonstone, it's temperature sending sparks through your bloodstream. You held it in your hand, allowing the glow to slowly diminish as you stared at it, completely mesmerised.

,,What is that?"

A voice pulled you back to the ground, making you realise, that Viktor was standing right before you, his goggles pulled up onto his forehead as he carefully analysed the gem. His bangs were messily sticking out in every direction, revealing his amber eyes, now tainted with a blue hue from the jewel.

,,I-It's a Moonstone. My mother gave it to me before I left the residence. She didn't mention it being magical though..."

Your partner reached outwards with his hand, a questioning look painting his face. You passed him the stone, the silvery chain still tied around your neck, making him close the remaining distance. You could faintly feel the smell of his cologne as he slowly turned the gem in his hands, raising it a bit higher to get a good look at it.

Following his movement you raised you head as well, stepping closer in order to give him a good access. His slender fingers carefully traced the jewel's smooth surface, analyzing it under each angle. You looked at him with sheer admiration, the sparks of excitement, that danced in his irises clouding your mind completely. His gaze however didn't catch yours, as the Zaunite was too focused on the stone he twirled around in his hand.

,,Fascinating... Perhaps the name Moonstone is more literal than we have fist anticipated. After all, the celestial body of the Moon has been used for navigational purposes for over millennia. It doesn't, however, explain it's conduit like properties for magic. Absolutely incredible!"

His gaze finally travelled downwards and met yours, and you could swear you saw his breathing hitch slightly, as he realised how close the two of you were.

,,We have to run more tests while the hextech gem is still active!"

He dropped the gem, letting it dangle on your neck as it's glow died down completely, returning it to it's milky white colour. You stood there for a second, trying to comprehend the situation at hand while Viktor giddily muttered some theories under his breath. He circled around the lab while gathering other various test subjects like pens, balls of crumpled paper and even lighter books and sketchpads.

,,Viktor wait! This could be dangerous... We should examine the Moonstone's structure first, see if it had changed after being influenced by the gem's energy. It's a new, unknown variant, that we should to take into consideration while running calculations. And it's highly against the protocol as well!"
