Larry POV

We walked back in the mall and searched for my brother. He was looking at jewelry like I just knew he would be. If that man buys anymore bracelets, I swear. I walk into the store with Kina in tow. She was being kind of quiet and distant, but I figured it's a conversation for later.

Lar- Hey Lau. I think we're about done with shopping.

Lau- Yeah. I found what I came in here for anyway.

Lar- What'd you get?

Lau- Friendship bracelets for me and Kina!

K- Oh Lau! That's so sweet. You didn't have to do that.

Lau- You're my new bestie so it's customary! *puts them on and smiles* Okay let's get out of here. I could go for sushi.

K- I could, too.

Lar- I guess, me three then.

Author POV

The walk to the car was full of joking amongst the boys, and though Kina joined in at times, she was mostly quiet. They rode to a local sushi spot not too far from Larry's place. The décor was traditional and elegant. The hostess led them to a booth at the end of a conveyor belt. Colorful plates floated around it in little boats. The hostess handed out menus and told them the dinner specials before taking their drink orders and walking away.

Lar- *whispers* You okay?

K- I...saw Rochelle at the mall.

Lau- Who's Rochelle?

Kina and Larry looked up noticing that Lau was now looking at them expectantly. Larry looked back at Kina apologetically, knowing his nosy brother would badger her with questions. Kina cleared her throat and looked across the booth at Laurent.

Lau- Is it bad?

K- Yeah it's kind of bad.

Lau- Wanna talk about it?

K- I saw my ex's new fiancé and she's pregnant.

Lau- Geez. How was that?

K- Not great. I got a bit triggered. Reminded me of some old conversations we had.

Lau- You and the ex?

Lar- Lau!

K- It's okay. Long story short, she has the life that I thought that I wanted. One he assured me that he did not see in his future. The whole married with kids part at least.

Lau- You know? I had a girlfriend once.

K- Wow. You had a girlfriend?! *laughs*

Lau- *chuckles* Really funny Kina. Yes, I had a girlfriend once. We were together for a long time. Believe it or not, I was not the best person to her and she leave me. I saw her on Instagram one day and she was engaged to this other guy. It hurt because I supposed to be her forever, but it didn't work out that way. I saw her in Paris and got super triggered as you call it. I try to fight her fiancé. It was a disaster.

Lar- Oh la la! I scuffed up a nice pair of J's trying to hold him back.

The waitress came back and took their food orders, letting them know they could grab plates from the conveyor as well. They quieted their laughter at Larry's comment about the shoes just in time for her return.

Lau- Seriously though, I get it. I was in a more healthy relationship at the time. I don't know why it even bothered me at all, but it did. My girlfriend at the time told me I needed to heal and focus on me. So, that's what I did. We broke up and I started working on myself.

K- Well aren't you the wise one?

Lau- When you keep taking L's the way I was, you can only turn them into lessons.

Lar- Lessons well learned and well applied.

Lau- Yeah yeah. Can we eat now? Enough of the heavy stuff.

K- Thank you Lau. You didn't have to share.

Lau- No problem bestie. *winks*

Lar- Awww I'm so glad you guys get along so well.

Lau- Way to ruin the moment bro. *sarcasm*

Lau took a playful swing at Larry across the table, but missed and settled for grabbing a plate of food from the conveyor. They all grabbed plates after that and dug in. The conversation was light and filled with laughter in between bites of delicious food. Kina even ordered a decanter of saké. She drank most of it herself. The boys toasted one shot with her but couldn't bare to drink anymore of it. When it was time to go, Larry put a very drunk Kina on his back to take her to the car. Even though she protested that she could walk. The three of them waved goodbye to the nice hostess on the way out of the restaurant and into the parking lot.

Lar- Are you going to show me what's in those bags?

K- Why *hiccup* aren't you mad at me?

Lar- Should I be mad at you?

K- Maybe. I wonder sometimes why you never get mad at me for any of my episode.

Lar- Because I understand and I know you love me. That's enough for me.

K- You're amazing. *hiccup* You know that?

Lar- Amazing enough to know what's in the bags?

K- Oh you'll see alright! I'm going to suc-*mouth gets covered*

Lau- Ewwww. *laughing his ass off*

Lar- Kina! Not in front of my brother! *laughs just as loud*

K- *moves hands* Shouldn't have asked then! You'll just have to wait.

Lar- Dang man. Fine.

Once in the car, the boys put Kina in the front seat to ward off motion sickness and headed home. When they arrived they let her walk inside on her own so they could carry all the bags. Though she stumbled a little, she managed to make it inside. Kina made a beeline for the couch and took a load off, but not before yelling to Larry not to look in her shopping bags.

Lar- You ruin all my fun!

Lau- Don't you prefer the surprise of it though?

Lar- Hmmmm. I like the sound of a surprise.

Lau- My dear brother...so pretty...yet so slow.

Laurent wiped a hand across his brother's face and walked passed him to his room. Larry dropped their bags in his room and went to the kitchen to grab drunk ass some water. He filled a glass and grabbed some crackers before walking over to her on the couch.

Lar- How are you feeling?

K- I feel great. A lil drunk, but still great.

Lar- Oh goodness. I don't think I've ever seen you drunk before. I must say it's a lil funny.

K- Oh just wait til someone plays music. It gets even funnier.

Lar- Oh really? *smirks* Should I play some now?

K- No no no. You not ready for all that!

Lar- You know what I am ready for?

K- What's that? *takes a sip of water*

Larry scoots closer and leans down to Kina's ear.

Lar- *whispers huskily* Another shower...
