Chapter 26: Oh Brother Part 1

Larry POV

I woke up on the couch alone. Kina was in the kitchen. I could tell because the smell of coffee and bacon was thick in the air. She had to be making breakfast. I sat up for a second and wiped the sleep from my eyes, still noticeably tired. I shook my head as to shake the sandman's effects off of me. I got up noticing I slept in my jeans. I changed into my lounge pants quickly before strolling into the kitchen to see my baby.

Kina had earphones in listening to music, probably trying not to bother me. It must've been a song she really liked because she was slow whining and I couldn't resist coming behind her, dancing with her. She jumped at first, almost dropping the spatula in her hand before pressing back into me. She rolled her hips and I followed not missing a beat, even though I had no idea what she was listening to. Soon she stopped dancing and so did I. I wrapped my arms around her from behind and laid a kiss to the top of her head as she removed her earphones.

K- Good morning baby.

L-Good morning my love.

K- Laying it on thick, aren't we? What did you do?

L- I do nothing my love. I just glad to be here with you. I was so sad when I woke up without you.

K- Well blame it on your heavy ass laying on my stomach. My bladder was screaming by the time I woke up. I barely slid from underneath you without waking you up. After I was up, I figured I'd make breakfast.

L- So what you making?

K- We got bacon, mini pancakes topped with strawberries and syrup, scrambled eggs, orange juice, and fresh brewed coffee.

L- See. I knew you try to get me fat.

K-Child please. You eat like a horse. I have to make a lot to satisfy you.

L- Or I could just eat you for breakfast. I think that would be very satisfying.

I could see Kina tense up at my teasing. Blush crawling onto her cheeks as she looked away from me, pretending to ignore me.

K- So food's almost ready. You should go wash up and I'll place everything on the table.

L- Sure. *whispers* A pity you don't want to take me up on my offer.

Kina, again, pretends not to hear a word I say and goes about setting the table. In the meantime, I head to the bathroom to wash up and brush my teeth. I finish my hygiene routine and meet Kina at the table where she is sipping on her coffee, waiting for me to join her to eat.

Author POV

Larry sits in front of his plate and says a quick grace before picking up his utensils and begins eating. The two enjoy small talk in between bites. Discussing Kina's return to therapy and what they should do with their last day of freedom before they both return to reality. Plates emptied and a fresh cup of coffee in hand, the couple goes into the den to continue their conversation on the couch.

L- Oh wow. I almost forgot. My brother is coming into town tomorrow as well.

K- Oh really? When was the last time you saw him?

L- When I graduated school, right before I accepted a place in Dr. Lynn's program.

K- Wow. So it's been a while?

L- Yeah. I can't believe I forget. I've been so excited to see him and for him to meet you.

K- He wants to meet me?

L- Of course he does baby. He wants to know who is taking up all of my time in his absence. He's such a brat. *chuckles* If I miss a call because I'm here, he throws a whole tantrum. You'd never guess he was a whole grown ass man.

K- Oooohhhh Larry. What if he doesn't like me?

L- I'm sure he'll love you just like I love you.

K- But you know how awkward I get around new people.

L- He is the same way baby. You'll both warm up to each other and it will be fine.

K- I hope you are right.

L- Trust me Kina. It will be fine.

The rest of the day was fairly uneventful. Kina looked at Larry's face and hand, covering the bruise of his face in ice and putting ointment on the cut, that was now apparent, on his knuckle. There wasn't much swelling but Kina wasn't trying to hear it. Larry would be lying if he said he didn't like the attention Kina was showing him. She even let him lay on her again as they watched television, realizing he rather liked being the small spoon. She wrapped her arms around his chest and he pushed back into her embrace, snuggling close.

K- What time do you have to be up in the morning?

L- I have to get Lau from the airport at like seven, so maybe six. I'll get him settled in at my place and then get ready for your session. We should be done fairly early so maybe we can all go to brunch and you guys can get to know each other.

K- He better be nice Larry. I mean it.

L- He's definitely the nicer one out of the two of us.

As much as Larry offered Kina assurances, she just could not be sure. She was an introvert and meeting new people gave her extreme anxiety, especially if they were important. A fact that Larry was well aware of and Larry's twin brother was definitely important. She could only hope that things would go well. She'd hate to be something that came between Larry and his twin.

Her worries were put to the side as the day dragged on into night. They had binge watched two seasons of Dexter and had hibachi takeout for dinner. To say that eyes were starting to droop was an understatement.

K- Let's go take a shower and get ready for bed baby. I can't take another night of sleeping on this couch with your heavy ass.

L- Shower together? *smirks slyly*

K- If you can behave yourself...

L- *feigns hurt* Of course I can.

K- Let's go silly.

Larry picked Kina up from the couch and laid her over his shoulder. With how tired she was she didn't even bother trying to fight it. He carried her into the bathroom, and placed her on her feet next to the tub, before starting the water. They undressed each other, throwing their clothes all over, knowing they'll have to pick them up later. Once under the water, they just stood there for a while. Kina stood in front of Larry with his arms wrapped around her waist. She brought her hands up to cover his, leaning her head back onto his chest. they both sighed in content at how good the water felt and just being so close. Much too tired to do more, they washed each other quickly before getting out and heading to the bedroom. Kina had half a mind to ask to be carried again, but figured she should walk since they had to climb the stairs to her room.

They put on underwear and slid under the covers, naturally finding a comfortable cuddling position with Kina laying on Larry's chest. After shared "good night"s and "I love you"s, they started to drift off with Larry laying a soft kiss to Kina's forehead before falling fully asleep.

A/N: Okay so this is mostly filler and foreshadowing. I wanted to introduce the next chapter. Looks like Laurent will be making an appearance. I haven't decided how big of a role he will have but he'll be around. As always, vote and comment. Let me know what you think.
